If you're in Columbia, drive 75 miles north and then turn left. There's no way you'll miss anything in LaPlata. :D

They got anyplace (hotel/motel) to sleep there? I haven't done much of anything lately. Be a good excuse (well, not really) to get away... :)

IIRC, there's at least one hotel in LaPlata (at least there used to be). There are several in Kirksville.

Six most of the time no reracks. That way games go faster so others can play. Sometimes we play with 10 and 12 with one rerack. Side bets are allowed. We have tournaments every now and then

The Depot inn is getting ready to put in a indoor water part, and train museum from Chicago going in. Theater, and all kinds of shit, supposed to bring in 400 new jobs I think he told me it was a 22 mil dollar project. Turning old cabooses into rooms to stay in. All kinds of stuff.

Anyone’s brother have a classic Lincoln we can borrow, I know of a girls school in Columbia where we can pick up some dates.

Nice board how is the game played, I think I have an idea but not sure of the details?

Line up cups. Fill the cups 1/4-1/3 of the way with beverage. Take turns throwing a ping-pong ball into the cups. If you make it in, the other team needs to drink the cup and remove it from play. First team to clear all of the cups wins.

That's the basics. People have different rules regarding interference, rebuttal, re-racks, if you make 2 (or 3 for 3 person) in a row, etc.

If they ball bounces you can swat it away, but if the bounced one goes in it counts as two. If the ball comes back to the other team and they recover it without going over the half court line, they get to shoot again. If both players make it they get balls back and shoot again.

Leaning is just opinion. Some lean to far and accidentally knock over there own cup, which counts. Same with batting one away. Saw a girl the other night try to bat one away that was bounced and knocked everyone of her teams cups over.

You can also play the "dip" version. After a miss, the thrower must dump dip on his head.

We generally play with all of those provisions.

And then usually have to drink the beer in the cups of the other team that they failed to clear before loosing.

Miller Lite>Bud Light.
KU>MU.

But all joking aside, that's a very nice looking table. Just played a ton of beer pong last night at my buddies house.

He bought a 30 pack of Bud Dry for $9.99 and that sh*t is actually pretty good, especially for how cheap it is.

If I ever get the space and/or motivation I wanna do a Chiefs/Miller Lite collaboration.

Sweet table though.

Do you use quarters? Ping pong balls? Are you suppose to bounce said object into a cup?

smittysbar
11-10-2007, 09:13 AM
You use ping pong balls. 2 Players to a team. you throw them into solo cups. Basic rules we stated, but rules are way different depending on where you are playing

smittysbar
11-10-2007, 09:14 AM
Beer pong (also called Beirut, Rut, Lob pong or Scud) is a drinking game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drinking_game) in which players throw a ping pong (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Table_tennis) ball across a table with the intent of landing the ball in one of several cups of beer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beer) on the other end. The game typically consists of two two-player teams, one on each side of a table, and a number of cups set up on each side. The rules vary widely, though usually there are the same number of plastic cups - six, ten or 15 plastic cups - arranged in a triangle on each side. The number of players on a team can vary as well, from one to three or more. When a ball lands in a cup, the defending team must consume that cup's beer. The game is won by eliminating all the other team's cups before one's own cups are eliminated. The losing team must then consume all the beer remaining in the winning team's cups. The order of play varies - both players on one team shoot, then both players on the other team, or players on opposite teams can alternate back and forth.Although the preceding guidelines are common, the rules may be subject to a wide variety of modifications and additions that often vary based on the area of the country, the state, or even the house in which a particular game is played.Today, beer pong is played at a multitude of North American colleges and universities.[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beer_pong#_note-Corbett) The game is also played at high school house parties.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beer_pong#_note-Flynn)The most common modern version of the game is played without paddles and has a murkier beginning. The Daily Princetonian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_Princetonian), the student newspaper of Princeton University (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princeton_University), attributed the naming of the paddle-less game where balls are thrown into cups to the early 1980s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1980s) at Bucknell University (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucknell_University) or Lehigh University (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lehigh_University).[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beer_pong#_note-DailyPrincetonian)

I just box framed 2X6's, plywood for the top, then coasters glued down, dumped a gallon of poly on the coasters. Let that dry. Put trim around the edges (to hold the two stage poly) then poured in the 2 stage hardening poly, blew the bubbles out with a torch. Added the lights, put rope lights around the bottom so they shine down to the floor but kept them out of site, so it didn't look like a X-Mas tree. 4X4 Legs. Then I did a bunch of other crap like cup holders for solos and holders for towels, clean water cups, and buckets to hold balls.
