what a crazy game.. The UW QB took a blow to the head and was motionless for several minutes until the ambulance came on the field and took him to the hospital; very scary situation..

There were 4 players ejected, and a horrible call by the officials to rob OSU of a game clinching score right as Jake Locker walks back into the stadium with a neck brace on.. I have never seen a guy carted off like that actually return upright before the game ends..

Did anybody else see this?

Weird.. What did you think Arc?

oh yah i saw it, and the refs almost gave washington the game. i don't normally say things like that, but in this instance, the refs totally blew the call. Pure blindness and stupidity.

Might have been the worst call I've ever seen.. It definitely gave us a chance to pull off the W..

(I would've taken it BTW) :)

Especially considering that the Ref was literally right in front of the play at the time. That was the weirdest call I have ever seen.

And it was amazing that we still couldn't capitalize off of it.

I friggen hate ESPN they just said the refs made a bad call and never showed it. I guess it's their
West coast coverage.

I would love to see that call. Probably on the net somewhere. I heard it was one of the worst ever...

Just watched a rebroadcast of the game. It was a terrible call against OSU. The ball carrier was clearly down and that should have been picked up without the help of replay. But the replay booth definitely blew it. They did not stop the next play from being started in order to review the play. The IR crew has be reprimanded by the Pac-10.

"We do believe the instant replay officials did not perform properly on the Bernard fumble play. There was human error in that while reviewing the available replays the crew failed to notify the game officials to stop play before the ball was snapped for the next play. It was not the fault of the equipment. The game should have been stopped and the play reviewed. The members of the IR crew have been reprimanded."

It's similar to the NC game between USC and Texas - when Vince Young tossed the ball to a teammate when he was being taken down. He was very clearly down and the replay refs didn't do anything.

I didn't see this until today so sorry I didn't answer sooner.

I have never been more pissed during a game than at that point. I couldn't believe what was happening. I think if the Fuskies had "won" the game, there might have been a riot.

If anyone hasn't seen the blown call, here it is:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-O1QGjGFYlg&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-O1QGjGFYlg&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

The problems really started a lot earlier, though. After Locker was knocked out, the Husky players started cheap-shotting Bernard and Afalava at the end of plays, including pulling Bernard's helmet off in the pile and punching him in the face. The refs wouldn't put a stop to it, so it escalated to the point where there were the ejections. The fact that one of those players for the Beavs is the starting CB (who never threw a punch) and another is the nickel back is really going to hurt us next week against the Cougs. :shake:

Wasn't it you, Chiefs52, that was telling me how great the PAC-10 refs were last year? I still call BS. :harumph:

By the way, Joe, Willingham has said that the hit on Locker was "an illegal helmet-to-helmet hit" and thinks Afalava should have been penalized and ejected. This is supposedly what got the Husky players all upset. I think it is pretty clear that Afalava hit him straight up and that it was Locker dipping his head at the last second that caused Afalava's facemask to hit the side of Locker's helmet. What do you think?

This is a stupid question, but I need some help none the less. How do you get the youtube links posted in threads to work? I have tried copy and paste to the address bar, and can still get nothing to happen. Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't think it was a cheapshot at all, you see hits like that many times a game with no flag..

I'm hoping the comments were heat of the moment. I know TW is pinning all of his hopes on Locker, so it had to be upsetting to see him hurt (besides just being concerned for a player - Jake is supposed to be a good guy).
