View Full Version : 10-6 or 4-12? Which is more likely for the Chiefs in 2007?

I'm liking what I've seen from Croyle. I'm thinking despite Solari and Herm he could conceivable go 3-3 from here on out. 7-9 looks likely.

I'm not sure where that will but us in the draft. Probably around the high teens low 20's. I'm bummed that we will go another year not getting a chance for a Top 5 or 10 pick. It is a shame given all our picks.

We've already got 6 losses. I don't think winning out is too likely. Even if we go 4-2, which seems almost as unlikely, the playoffs are a pipe dream.

I don't think it's unlikely at all that we finish in third place. The team that gets in from the AFC West will be the weakest team in the playoffs, but you can't get there with 8-8.

80% chance of 6-10 or 7-9, I think.

Well..considering our schedule goes something like this...

Nov. 25 - Oakland
Dec. 2 - San Diego
Dec. 9 - @ Denver
Dec. 16 - Tennessee
Dec. 23 - @ Detroit
Dec. 30 - @ New York Jets

I could see us pulling out a miracle and going on a spree, maybe losing one or two along the way. But then again I could see us beating GB and Denver at home. So 8-8 would be mighty nice, but 7-9 is probably more realistic.

9-7 isn't out of the realm of possibility, but I'd say there's about a 75% chance we go 7-9, 15% we go 8-8, 9% we go 9-7 and 1% we go 10-6.

Who knows though, Brodie may be our savior and the guiding light that allows Herm and our coaches to open this offense up a little bit and complement our fierce defense.

10-6. I will stick with that until we lose, then I will say 9-7. Call me a homer. Our D and Brodie has me stoked.

Is a top 5 pick really worth it
all that money on 1 player that could just as easily be a bust
10-15 less money if you get a bust like all teams picking there get

Again folks keep talking about the 1st round. I'm talking about having a Top 5 in the later rounds. That's where being a Top 5 or 10 pick gives you an advantage. Folks on this board don't seem to understand this.

If you are picking in the low 20's in the later rounds a lot of good players are taken.

10-6.

KC came within a FG of beating the world champs in their own house with a new QB in his first ever start.

It can only get easier. That was far and away the toughest game the Chiefs will have to play this year.

I don't care about where we place in the draft. Herm finds a way to get good players in the mid-late first round anyhow. Herm is a better judge of talent than most coaches in this league. That is one thing I can really give him credit for.

The Chiefs just have to go 8-8, which is feasible and they can win the AFC West. Such a sorry, weak division, but we can still win it. I'm all for it. Let Brodie get some experience.

Maybe then the Chiefs will overhaul their offensive line, overhaul their offensive coach staff, overhaul their head coach position and overhaul who their GM is

We win in Den, beat SD at home. We also shut down Detroit like we did Indy and win that one. I think we can even beat Tenn.

All these teams are so up and down who really knows at this point.Sure, every team the Chiefs beat will be a 10-7, 14-10 type game. The last six weeks aren't scary or promising. They're a toss-up.

The Chiefs can win at home because they're a bit less conservative at home, and I don't believe any of the remaining teams have the real ability to blow the Chiefs out if our defense plays at a level remotely close to what they did today.

Even an injured Colt offense should have been able to put up 21-24 on us at home.

But our D held them to 216 yards, and if they can stay in that sort of mode, the Chiefs will be in every game down the stretch.

Who knows, Brodie and Bowe may kick start this sh*t, but they're gonna have to because no RB is going to do anything of any worth this year.

The Colts didn't just blow this game and slide by..the Chiefs D shut Manning down. They played an even worse game the week before and managed to score 21 points and Manning threw for 328 yards, along with 6 picks. And barely lost that game.

I know everyone wants to say "Indy isn't themselves and this was a hoax", but I'm crediting our defense where credit is due. After Peyton threw that 38 yrd strike down the sideline in their first possession I thought we were done, but our D buckled down and got after him.

The Colts have had a bad stretch, but they've still got all the ingredients to put up 30+ points and shut the other team down any given week, especially at home.

I can handle the truth just fine. Picking a 4-6 team to win 6 to 9 games isnt going out on much of a limb. I have just had it with your trolling ass on this board. I have never read one constructive statement by you. You just come over here to be a d*ck, just like goatsex does on other boards. You are both trolls. That is pretty accurate although you are very optimistic for 6 wins. I was thinking 4 wins after seeing this team play past couple weeks.

I was thinking 4 wins after seeing this team play past couple weeks.Yeah, but I just pity the Raiders so much I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and they might pull 4 wins off. Not next week, but maybe the following 5 games, they'll go 4-1. I doubt it, but anything is possible.

Our D did what it needed to do to win, our O as usual laid an egg! We are the mirror image of DV's Chiefs.

Croyle would have won that game despite Solari and Herm if that was his 10th regular game start.

Chief's are ranked 30th in O production. I remember after DV left I predicted that our O ranking would drop like a stone, most did not agree with me. :shake:

I feel your pain, 63.
I said the same about the D when DV brought players and coaches west on I-70 in 2001.

I think we are better off needing a bit more punch on offense than trying to rebuild an entire defense. This defense has the potential to be great. That was a butt whuppin' KC laid on the Colts O yesterday. I think with Croyle, LJ, a real FB and 2-3 new OLmen, we have the chance to score 22 ppg (arena football league).

I may agree with you, but you would have to replace Herm for at worst your buddy Marty to guarantee the result.
