"Flag" Football Friday 11/23 1:00 PM

If you're in town for the holiday, you're welcome to join us for a fun afternoon of friendly but competitive football. We're considering playing Saturday as well and probably will if there's enough interest. We usually get 16-30 people out but at least 4 of our regulars are out of town for the holiday so we need fresh meat.

We play two hand touch anywhere on the ball carrier. Everybody else is subject to getting blocked hard or pushed around if you're attempting a block so don't come out if you're fragile. When we have enough players we do play with linemen so even if you're not in great shape or can't catch there's a place for you on the line.

I dunno. We have some kids who show up sometimes, 15-16. I'd say most of us are late 20's through 30's. I'm 36, Wutamess is in his early 30's, and Dave Lane is 50. So we have a wide range. There's some good athletes who come out. It's a good time.

Were those kids that old? I was guesing 12-13. Or are you talking about Carlos' bunch? I'm horrible at guessing ages.

That little kid was a very small 14 or maybe even 15. He's probably the smallest kid we've had play with us and he actually held his own.

I'd like to play Saturday, but even if I plan to get to Arrowhead at 4 instead of 3, that still only leaves me like an hour and a half to play...

I have really, really been wanting to get back out there but it has been difficult the past few weeks. I did play football last weekend, but that was up at my dad's place near the Horton/Hiawatha area and with mostly a bunch of kids. Need to get back out to Raytown South and play some real ball.

I used Mapquest the first time. Hell, the first time I went there this year Phil's directions got me going the wrong direction on the street there. I ended up going by the middle school and then into the sticks.

I'm up for both days if possible. At lot depends on the weather at this point. If we were playing today, obviously nobody would show. If there's snow on the ground people might show but it's really not much fun. Been there, done that.

It's on. In addition to the guys we have from the Planet we also have regulars who show. Unless the weather is just horrible we'll play and we'll have enough. We usually rotate on the O line so every one gets a chance to be a WR. We each play a few series on the line and its fun in small doses :)
