Well, here's a pic from a couple years ago of my normal setup, but due to physical limitations this year I will not be putting them up.

Cool. how long does it usually take you to set it up and take it down?

Setting up can take anywhere from 6-8 hours, most of that consists of untangling the icicle lights and getting them all working. The reindeer and sleigh (obscured) all have to be wired down to the roof so the wind doesn't blow them away. Taking it down is a lot faster, only a couple hours. It's a lot of work and that's not even a very extravagant setup. I don't know where the people with the huge displays find the time.

I think putting up and taking down seasonal house decorations could be a profitable service business.

There are many of those companies in my neighboorhood. I looked into it. Basically $20.00 an hour per person with a minimum fee plus an electrician fee if needed.

It is. A buddy of mine used to have a lawn sprinkler/landscaping business. In the winter he would put up Christmas lights on homes to make a little money during his seasonal downtime.

yeah i grew up there pretty scary at nightHeh, I went up there with a buddy one night, and a couple girls.

We were drinking, and when the cops showed up, I was up in that tree-house thing with my girl.

When they came looking for us... I had no idea cops were coming along.

My buddy thought he had a warrant, (for what, I don't know)... He was sweating bullets. They ran his lisence, told us we should find a better place to have fun , and let us go.

It was interesting. Coolest St. Joe cops I ever met.

They had the, "Ah, kids getting drunk and laid. I remember those days." vibe.

Dodged a bullet, there.

Everyone of those is incredible. How the hell do people find the time to set all those up?

Thanks for adding to the joyous season.

Have you seen that Miller Lite commercial? They rip off this person's work. I still think this is much better than Miller's.
