this from kusports.com

KU is hoping for the potential return of sophomore guard Sherron Collins, who has been out more than three weeks due to a stress fracture in his right foot. For the first time since then, he was active in warmups today and in uniform rather than street clothes.

Arizona came out playing like it was 9 am on the west coast, and it was a 5-10 point game for most of the game... so I'm really surprised it went to OT.

Jayhawks apparently off to a good start.

I actually said the same thing to my wife while we were watching the game today. Defensively, they are relentless, and they play so well together as a team on Offense. They don't have any holes that I can see and they are explosive. Even some of those other teams mentioned had some "holes." On the drive over from Topeka we saw a semi that had jack-knifed on the west bound lanes. Had all 3 lanes backed up. Then this pickup passes me going way too fast. Sure enough he loses control and does a spin right in front of me and a semi to my right. Luckily for us the dumbass went right into the ditch. Scared the shit out of me and my son.

You mean like last year? ROFL ROFL ROFL

Wow, you know a load about college hoops dont you boy? B Griffin is a freshman. He's also the best big man in the League, and only 10 games in.

Kansas looks very strong this year. You might go undefeated in League play, this league sucks. Oklahoma sucks. It's just basketball though, not anything important like football.

80,00 people don't go to watch Brandon Rush go 5 of 14 from the field.

You're right. 16,000+ people go watch Brandon Rush and KU's squad 19 times this year. I'm willing to bet you're not so sharp with the math, so I'll do it for ya.

That's roughly 300,000+ fans going to watch an "unimportant" sport like basketball. If a football field was the size of a basketball court, even the almight OU Football Sooners wouldn't draw more than 20,000 fans to each event.

Lee and Graves didn't play on any of the teams mentioned. Try Pollard, LaFrentz, Pierce, Vaughn and Haase. Show me the holes.

I wasn't refering to the team with Pollard and co. but the team with Heinrich and Collison did have Graves and Lee on it, didn't it? The final four team that Lee's shot was blocked out of bounds by Warrick to end it?

Yes, it is. That Collison - Heinrich team and the one with Pollard & co. are my favorites.

My point was that as good as that team was, I don't think 2 of the players on the court at the end of that game (Graves and Lee) would be playing any sort of substantial minutes on this year's squad.

Where are all their fans defending their team?

Why defend? They are a team that needs retooling and Anderson is only in his 2nd year.

But it is interesting to see that they played some good pressure defense and made the late run to seal the game.

Kinda makes everyone who posted crap about Mike Anderson and his 40 Minutes of Pressure look foolish. (Yeah you know who your are in this thread)

Mike's 40 Minute of Garbage doesn't work against elite teams.

Your pressure worked today because you were playing a very young team, while playing at home.

But, if you believe Mike and his coaching "style" more power to you.

Ahahahah. You fail to realize that Oklahoma has a much larger population than Kansas, and there aren't any pro teams to compete with. Trust me, OU football is thrice as big as KU hoops could ever dream. Our athletic budget should tell you everything you need to know.

I think it was the '90 KU team who played Arkansas in the 2nd round of the Dance. We kept hearing about 40 minutes of Hell. But Roy's teams always ran. We kept breaking their press and getting easy buckets. By the end of the game Ark. was so winded that Oliver Miller wouldn't even go to the defensive end of the court. He just stayed under his own basket. It was really funny considering all the crap they put out.

Then there was the time when Kentucky wouldn't quit pressing us even though we were killing them by breaking it. Roy waved a white towel at Pitino and he gave us the finger. So we ran up 150 points on them. So no, pressing KU isn't a good idea. That's why nobody ever does it.

I think Anderson was probably there the day KU did that number on Arkansas so he may know better. The press works great against lesser or inexperienced (like today) competition. But Chalmers, RussRob and Collins will tear it to pieces.
