View Full Version : How much of the game did you actually watch?

I watched Denver go through our D like a high school team on the first drive and switched to the Squeelers / Pats game.
I watched about a quarter and a half. Honestly, I woke up from a nap around 2:40 and had totally forgotten about the game until I turned on the TV and looked at the DirecTV guide. Sad but true.
I started doing other things when Page totally wiffed on Young on his first big run - how embarrassing. From then on I tuned in and out while doing other stuff.

I, being the glutton for punishment that I am, watched the entire thing while playing army men and dinosaurs with my son. Army men are fun, even when you aren't using matches and firecrackers.

Overall about 1/2 of the game. I had the Chiefs on one TV and was playing COD4 on another. Needless to say I was far more interested in COD4.

Not one play. The last time I didn't watch a game (until this last one) was 7 years ago when I had to work on a Sunday. I tracked it online, but watched the Pats and Steelers. I just didn't feel like dropping 50 bucks at the bar to watch them lose to the friggin Donks. I guess I'm a bad fan.

I tuned out 6 minutes into the 3rd qtr. Shut off the TV, radio and did something more enjoyable with the family.

Watched all but the last 2 minutes. I knew we weren't going to win this one and was just interested in looking at the younger guys. Coming to grips with that really helped me not get ballistic with this non-performance.

Paying to be miserable just isn't a really bright idea especially when you could get popped on the way home for having a couple beers to ease the pain.

True enough, but sadly it would take more than a couple to ease that game.

I watched 14-0 and then another 3 and out, turned Holtus on pretty high volume and preceded to 'rest' my eyes...of course I woke up to the final score being announced as 41-7 and was totally impressed we managed to score a TD.
Your commitment to your values is admirable, Mr. Skip Towne.
I came in late to the game due to the dang holidays. Somewhere in the 2nd quarter, I believe. We were already down 14 points and we started the 8 minute drive for the touchdown thing. I thought, "Hey! Wow! A touchdown thing!".
Then it all sort of went downhill from there. Lenny was extremely pissed most of the day.

I missed the first few minutes, so when I turned on the TV we were already down 14-0. I watched most of the rest of the first half, but got too disgusted to keep watching after the third Donx scoring drive, which featured perhaps the poorest defensive effort I have ever seen in my life, in any game by any team at any level.
After that, I'd check the score occasionally, and every time I turned on the TV we'd surrended another touchdown.
Wretched. Absolutely wretched. :shake:

I watched most of the first half, but was regularly checking in on the Charger/Titans game.
I watched probably 15 minutes of the second half, the rest of the time I watched the second half of Chargers/Titans game.
I did something really strange, never done it before. While the Chiefs were playing, I spent about 10 minutes in the kitchen making a salad.
Thanks Herm! You have released me from my Chiefs obsession!

I didn't watch any of it live. I rebuilt my nesting area for my Hens, expanded it from 2 two 4 nests.
I sped through the game on my Tivo last night. I didn't even bother to hide myself from the outcome earlier in the day as I knew they were going to lose.

I had it on in front of me the whole time but kinda stopped paying attention in the second half. Wish I coulda seen the Pats game, frankly.
I don't get to see that many Chiefs games here in New Mexico so I always watch when I can. Yesterday, however, was an exception. We had a few errands to run so my wife asked me if I wanted to be home in time for one of the late games. Nope, not today. When we did get home I turned on the TV to check the score....34-7 I believe. I went outside and put up some Christmas lights, then I hung a picture and a mirror. I'd been saying I would get that done for a month. The only thing good I can say for this Chiefs season is that my honey-do list has been shrinking.
I doubt if I watched more than 30 seconds of the game.

I felt a lot less guilty about flipping to the IA/ISU wrestling meet on public television. #3 IA upset #1 ISU, who had just beaten the previous #1 team. Good matches.
The game was bad enough, I saw less poo changing 3 diapers on a diarhea'd 2 year old.

I had tickets to the 12:30 Clippers-Heat game at Staples (center court, 15 rows from the floor-I couldn't just blow them off), so I recorded the game on two TV's in the house (not knowing in which room I'd watch). It was next to impossible to avoid the NFL scores at the game because they were flashing everywhere, but somehow, I managed to see them completely.
With the wife out of town, I ordered pizza and chilled some Mexican cerveza. I watched the game in its entirety, though I did skip the commercials and half-time.
Even though the final score was a disaster, I was thrilled with the lone touchdown drive. 3/3 on fourth down, the grittiness of Croyle and the amazing will of Tony Gonzalez.
If only that would drive could have been replicated a few more times throughout the game.
Alas, there's always next year.

Quick note: Shaq is done. I loved the guy in a Laker's uni but he wouldn't even a take shot. The cool thing was that my buddy is friends with the Heat's head assistant coach so we had court passes after the game.

The Chargers/Titans game went into overtime so by the time the Chargers were done lucking out ** and winning a game that they never should have won and they switched to the Chiefs game they were already behind by 14 - 0. I was so pissed off and in a bad mood I went outside and worked in the yard (stupid nice weather) because I needed too avoid my wife because I was afraid that she would ask me some stupid question and I would get in more pissed off.* :cuss:
**(the 4th down play that kept the Chargers drive alive so that they could tie the game too send it into overtime was a trapped ball and then they won the coin toss)

Stayed until they scored the td that put them up 34-7. Left with most of the rest of the "crowd". Hell, they had fewer seats filled than the Chiefs/Raiders game I was at over TG weekend.
Best part of the day was walking out and a donky fan said - "I can't gloat, we just sucked less than you today."

Most donkey fans we talked to realize we have a real bad team and realized the score was a product of that. pretty cool fans that we talked to all day and they realize they arent that good either. Good thing we found other things to do in denver over the weekend. Nice downtown area

I haven't missed watching a game since I started following the Chiefs back in '94, except once when I went to a panthers game during the 13-3 season. We lost to cincy that game, and I blamed myself for it. That said- I gave up on the second drive in the third qtr. I couldnt do it any longer. I found myself getting too angry to justify watching something I knew was inevitable.

I watched about 75% of the first half. Then I got up and drove 15 minutes away to play pick-up volleyball. Due to the weather, the volleyball turnout was horrible so I played 2 games of 2 on 2 and came home. I half napped/half watched until there were 3 minutes remaining in the game and then turned on the new DieHard to watch with friends. John MacClain destroyed the bad guys almost as badly as the Broncos destroyed the Chiefs.

Croyle's screen passes look different than Huard's?
Seriously though, it's a nice thought to still want to watch Jared get after it when he wants to, and to watch Croyle, Bowe, etc... but, say you've just watched the first half... do you really think you're going to see amazing potential from anyone or some great plays on offense in the second half?
