So, I'm going to be moving soon, to within five miles of my work. I've always wanted a 60's/70's motorcycle to tool around on, and this seems a good time to get one to ride to the office on half the time.

NOTE: I've never owned a motorcycle, though I consider myself somewhat mechanically inclined (when given a manual). But I don't want a high-maintenance bike (I've heard Triumph and BSA can be leaky and bad brakes, etc)

I don't need a museum piece, but want something with some mojo -- a flat profile, or something.
I've seen the Honda CB500/ CB750, CB360 etc circa 1970 - 74 and like them. some nice ones with metallic flake tanks, spoke wheels, etc.

Anybody got any other suggestions?

Why buy a vintage bike with all the maintenance it would require?
