Anyone here not able to guess the chief's player named to this list?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/don_banks/12/12/all.disappointments/index.html

The all bust team.

Running Back: Larry Johnson, Chiefs

Johnson got that hefty six-year, $45 million contract in the nick of time. Because after a pair of dominating 1,700-yard rushing seasons in 2005-06, he hit the wall this year. In the eight games he played before injuring his right foot, he gained just 559 yards, topping 120 yards only once. He has averaged a paltry 3.5 yards per carry behind the Chiefs' struggling offensive line, and scored just four touchdowns, after totaling 40 the past two seasons combined.
Johnson's NFL-record 416 carries last season portended trouble this year, because that kind of workload has historically taken a toll the following season on such backs as Eric Dickerson, Jamal Anderson, Eddie George and James Wilder. Johnson's camp holdout and three carries in the preseason probably contributed to his slow start.

Offensive Guard: Brian Waters, Chiefs

We're having Waters take the hit for our offensive interior linemen, in part because he looks like he has lost some of the mobility in his once-stellar game. Having lost Willie Roaf and Will Shields to retirement in recent years, the Chiefs offensive line isn't the Great Wall it once was. That reality has had more than a little bit to do with K.C.'s struggling Larry Johnson-led running game and the Chiefs' problems with pass protection.• Dishonorable mention -- Mike Wahle, Carolina.

Head Coach: Eric Mangini, Jets
Not only have the Jets fallen resoundingly back to earth at 3-10 after last year's 10-6 playoff season, Mangini's team has looked soft and not particularly resourceful. Those flaws point in his direction. New York's running game has been mediocre, and Chad Pennington and the passing game have failed to recapture their 2006 magic. After appearing to close the gap on New England late last year, it's back to a mile-wide chasm.

• Dishonorable mention -- Brian Billick, Baltimore.

I guess this is right, since you'd have to have hopes and expectations to be disappointed in Herm. He's successfully lowered the bar to the floor I guess.

Many of us called the LJ thing and mentioned those same examples...

I wonder what the people who were crying like not keeping him would kill the franchise think now...

His injury had NOTHING to do with his carries last year. Nothing.

It's like telling me that smoking will kill me then when I get shot in the face by a thief you say "See, that stuff's fatal."

There were no holes to run through and instead of being patient he acted like Donnel Bennett and crawled up the center's but for 2 and a cloud of dust. On top of that he got pouty when he couldn't get it going. Unless all those carries made him quick tempered and far sighted it's coincidence...

Nope but he should have been.

General Manager: Randy Mueller, Dolphins
Where to begin? He gave Joey Porter silly money in free agency, gave away Wes Welker to the reigning four-time division champs, signed a veteran quarterback (Trent Green) who obviously was one hard hit away from having his eggs scrambled for good, and bypassed Brady Quinn in the draft to take a kick returner (Ted Ginn Jr.) and a second-round quarterback (John Beck) who has looked like a deer in the headlights.

• Dishonorable mention -- Scot McCloughan, San Francisco.

Not sure Quinn should have been the pick there but I think they did pick Ginn wayyy to high

Brian Waters is still a dominant force in the middle. He just has no help. He might as well have high schoolers out there next to him.

Dont forget to mention Mueller traded welker to an intradivisional foe... cardinal sin.

As much as I dislike Carl....it's hard to argue with the pick of the Dolphins GM. That guy has ruined that team.

I really hope we take the Loser of the Quinn/Anderson choice in Cleveland. Maybe it'll turn out as well as it did for New Orleans.

Nah, that sounds too smart for us. We'll trade a draft pick for Chad Pennington somehow.

bullshite ..... i've seen him line up 1 on 1 with a Dlineman and get beat badly and then give up on the block all-together.

i've seen him stand there and watch as running backs and quarterbacks run for there lives. I've seen those same RB's/QB's cutback only to find ALL the offensive line just standing there instead of getting a 2nd chance at a block.

another reason why i think the scheme is killing the offensive line .... it makes them look slow, clumish and take their heart because they don't have confidence in the coaching.

No way they can release Quinn, and I'm sure as hell not giving up a 1st and 3rd round pick for Anderson. Anderson was shit when he didn't have a good line in Cleveland, and he most likely wont be here either. I say stick with Croyle.

Omg, I gotta say he IS worse than carl, it's obvious he drafted Ginn just because he knew Ginn growing up, then drafting beck was an obvious desperation pick. Man, he can't even get the 8-8 seasons Carl has so thankfully given to us the past few years.

You're right it probably won't happen, but IMO, I think a lot of Croyle's poor play in preseason was due to pressure from trying to win the job. I don't have any statistics or gawdy postulations to support it, but from what I've seen, it appears that he was trying to force things in preseason and is not now.

I saw we nut up and give the kid the job and see what he can do for us.

As always, JMO.
