So my wife and I had are first baby just over a year ago. Since he's started eating solids, we've chosen to make most of his food.

We will take a can peas and blend it up in the blender, then pour it into an icecube tray and freeze it. Then when it's time for him to eat, we microwave the cube and feed it to him.

I've noticed occasionally that it seems that the carrots or peas will crackle or flash when in the microwave.

More recently, we bought one of these...

Tonight I used it to cut up cubes of chicken breast. It worked great. Then I put the meat into the microwave and it poped, flashed and actually sparked a full flame which left burn marks on the chicken.

Are my blender and chopper leaving metal deposits on the food?

Has anyone ever seen or heard of anything like this before?

No biggy. They always say you could use more iron, I assume stainless steel will have the same positive effects.

Wow...that's what metal does when it's placed in a microwave, so I'd say yes, they must be. I've never heard of that happening before though.

You require the assistance of Rainman, my friend.

Is it just when you use that? Because I've had the sparking problem before and fixed it by buying a new microwave.

Quit buying cheap Chinese microwaves at Walmart, jAZ.

Unless you want Jr. to light up in the dark like a glow stick at an ecstasy party, or not be able to go through an airport metal detector without going off, you better figure it out.

God is trying to send you a message. Open your eyes, and change your ways. If you look really close, I bet you can see Jesus in the flames.
