Not much else to do today, so I threw together a little Chiefs Mock Draft for the first 5 rounds. Using GBN and NFLDraftCountdowns top 100's to put this together...

1st round... I like Croyle, so I did a little trade down with the Bears who want a QB. Picked up their 2nd rounder to trade down into the 11/12 range.

Oher OT Ole Miss or Clady OT Boise State

2nd round... Chiefs pick Boone OT Ohio State or Loadholt OT Oklahoma

2nd round... from Bears... Robinson OG Oklahoma

3rd round... Owen Schmidtt FB West Virginia

4th round... Jordy Nelson WR Kansas State (I think he is going to be a steal here)

5th round... from Miami... Cody Wallace C Texas A&M

5th round... Chiefs pick... Purify WR Nebraska

6th round on will let the defense have a few picks.

FB in the 3rd round?

Not just any FB. Plus, Smith looked pretty good running with Boomer along side him in the backfield. A true FB like Schmitt could do wonders for our offense.

I'd be fine with that, but no Clady in the first round. We're picking much too high to take someone like him.

So you are saying heavy on the o-lineman. Very interesting. :hmmm:

bit of a Big12 homer, aren't we?

I like your 1st day picks, but we also need to address CB.

I'm going to fix the offense this season. We will work on the defense in next years draft. Gun has had enough attention. Time for him to make those guys step up and perform.

Im sure he would be around later, and if not there has to be better talent to fill our needs than just a FB. We can always sign an NFL vet or find someone that was solid. FB's are hardly used and yes they are great for blocking but id rather take another position in that high of a position.

Not really. Big 12 just happens to have players listed around the spots we are picking. And those are pretty good players too.

I think obviously so much depends on what the chiefs do in free agency. If they can snag the guard away from the Colts, then I think alot changes. I would see if the tackles from Michigan or Ole Miss were available then even consider trading down like you mentioned. If I could pick my ideal first two rounds
1st round (trade back) Michael Jenkins CB
2nd round Ryan Clady or the best avail tackle
other 2nd round (from trading) next best available CB or receiver.
then best availabel player form there.

If Oher comes out he'll be a top 10 pick, and Clady is severely overrated as an OT. I'd pick Oher immediately with the 7th overall selection

Too many linemen.

wow .... taking that "we need offensive lineman" to the max.

you really think it's feasible to spend that much in resources on Oline in 1 year.

no way you can start 3/4 rookies on the Oline

personally i doubt you can draft more than 2 players at any one position in a single year.

We don't need two Tackles.
But I like the idea of taking Duke Robinson.
That kid could push for starting time right away...

I also don't like us taking multiple WR's.

If Alex Boone comes out he's top half of the 1st round.

lmao your not going to get purify in the fifth round. Your draft looks more like a wish list.

Purify sucks anyway.

Last I saw, Michael Oher has decided to stay at Ole Miss and play for Houston Nutt. But the Chiefs also are in dire need of a kicker. Not sure what's out there in free agency, so might have to go the draft route threre, too.

Not crazy about a FB in the 3rd but given that your draft has us focusing on O-line with an OT and Robinson from OU, I like it.
