Kansas City Claims T Adrian Jones on Waivers; Places T Kyle Turley on IR
Dec 19, 2007, 3:59:10 PM

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the club claimed T Adrian Jones on waivers from the N.Y. Jets. The club also placed T Kyle Turley on Injured Reserve. As per NFL rules, Jones will play under terms of his previous contract.

Jones (6-5, 296) played in seven games for the N.Y. Jets in 2007. He originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round selection (132nd overall) of the Jets in the 2004 NFL Draft. He has seen action in 44 games (16 starts) during his four-year NFL career. The University of Kansas product played in 42 games for the Jayhawks, spending his first three collegiate seasons as a tight end before moving to offensive tackle as a senior. Jones prepped at Carter High School in Dallas, Texas.

Turley (6-4, 306) saw duty in seven games, starting five contests at right tackle for the Chiefs in 2007. He joined the Chiefs as a free agent in 2006 and played in 14 games (12 starts) in two seasons with the club. Turley originally entered the NFL as a first-round pick (seventh overall) of New Orleans in ‘98. The nine-year veteran has played in 109 games (107 starts) with New Orleans (’98-02), St. Louis (2003-04) and Kansas City (2006-07). The Provo, Utah native earned All-America honors as a senior at San Diego State. Turley prepped at Valley View High School in Moreno Valley, California.

At least I won't have to see Turdley on the field again. Unless Herm Co. decides to allow him to tryout again.

Interesting that it was also the last game of his carreer that he donated his check to.

Yep I like Turley he wasn't the best player for us but he is a good guy and I like the fact that he is donating his game check to help the retired players out.

We started out with just their head coach and now we have 2 of their players.

Just wait until Pennington and Coles are traded here :D

I doubt anyone here realizes he played for KU - since you know, he played before 2007.

I remember he was arrested once - was it a DUI or something like that?

He only gave up 8 sacks in his one year as a starter. Ought to fit right in. He'll be right in the middle of the race for given up the most sacks and getting Brodie killed. Think we ought to start a pool next year on who get Croyle permenantly injured first.Unless Herm puts Huard in again to see how much more of a beating he can take.

Well, now it's official. Carl has even lost his ability to play the media. He just put the best story of the Chiefs season on IR for no good f**king reason. Had Turley been on the field on Sunday during that boring ass game they would have spent most of the game talking about what a great thing a Chiefs player was doing.

Way to go, King.

I see no need to ruin two franchises and make two fan bases suffer. I propose we flip a coin and the losing city gets a combined franchise (the Jiefs) with all the FO, coaches and players from the former Jets and Chiefs. The winning city gets an expansion franchise under the condition that they can never ever have anyone remotely associated with the loser franchise work for their franchise. At least then we'd have a 50% chance of getting a fresh start.
