That was the worst. What made it especially bad was that the actual fighting part of the game was kinda cool, so if you wanted to play you had to put up with the BS landings every time.

the dvd of the making of top gun the movie was better than the movie, evedently the directer thought he was doing a dark movie in the vail of apocolypse now then he started making it and the producers were like, no we want this a sports movie with planes, in real top gun there is no "winner" no locker rooms like you are playing football and certanly no 15 minute montages of arguably the single greatest gay volleyball scene in the universe. The game was tough as shit I agree Top gun 2 the game was pretty good though atleast you could fly upside down and shit

Anyone familiar with Ninja Gaiden for the NES...will remember "the jump"

the most irritating part of that game...trying to make a jump and get hit midair by some flying monkey creature...only to not be able to make it and die horribly EVERY DAMN TIME

I found a copy of this on ebay for like $5. It was just as hard as I remember.

It's like you can get your plane in the right path at the right speed and there's some random number selection that gives you a 1 in 4 chance of a successful landing.

Worse was the refueling part because if you missed it, you had to just keep playing for a few minutes even though you knew you would run out of fuel and die. But you couldn't just quit the mission without restarting the game and losing all your progress. :spock:
