I've got a fire going, my wool socks are keeping my feet warm, I am going to make a pizza, and then a pot of hot tea with lemon and honey. I'll drink it while wrapped up in my Scottish blanket on the couch and watch some movies.

I didn't think it was winter time in Olathe.

I am in the old side of town, the 66061 zip code side. We have no beaches like they do on the good side of town, in 66062 land. We have just one park with crumbled roads and potholes, sidewalks overgrown with weeds, street lights with burned out bulbs... the infrastructure west of I-35 has been neglected for decades. The ravages of winter strike us so hard over here in 66061 land.

Cancelled the planned trip to the local watering hole. Accoring to reports, all of SWMO's winter road equipment has been dispatched to Olathe for the weekend, so nature is having her way with the highways here.

Was going out with some friends since I'm back in town for the holidays, but am staying at home drinking some brew and watching the Mizzou game.

Also munching on some tasty homemade chex mix.

Having some frappe creme.

Some sort of mixture we sell at work (marked down) where you just add it to milk.

I'm also watching a mixture of MU/Illinois, BYU/UCLA, Cowboys/Panthers and listening to WSU/UAB. Also, spending time with the dogs.

I figure I'll play some CHK28 before I head to bed, wake up early in the mornin' and do some shovelin'.

I've no idea why, but I enjoy the "transforming" noise.
Does anyone have a link, or clip with that sound?

My fiance and I left KC this morning around 9:30 -wind blowing, raining, and about 33 degrees. We are now at a hotel in Nashville, hanging out with the dogs in our room and watching UCLA-BYU. Last time I looked the temp was about 55.

Went and picked up family all over town (okay... at NKC Hospital), then drove to Crown Center for a 2pm show at the American Heartland Theater (which ended up being at 4, because I apparently don't know how to read the internet when I buy tickets for a show). Then drove to the Plaza to eat at the Melting Pot (mmmm, ****ing, mmmmm). Drove back to NKC, then back to Independence, now I'm chilling here...

I don't hate the place. It's good. I mean, it's a lot better than McDonalds. But it's not nearly as good as Minskys.

Since I moved about a block away from Minsky's, Ive been eating a lot more of it.

It's no melted cheese and bread....er...okay... it's no raw meat soaked in boiling oil, followed by a hot vat of chocolate to dip stuff in.
