Long's missed a few blocks, surprisingly in the running game. He's held up fine in pass protection, partly due to the fact that Florida's mainly playing Harvey on the other side. He's not athletic enough to make up for when it gets beat to the outside though and that's going to happen a lot at the next level.

I don't get why Michigan was placed behind Illinois for the Rose Bowl berth. Michigan and Illinios were tied for second in the Big 10, but Michigan won in Champaign and would traditionally have the tie-breaker.

Because Michigan was unranked. To get a BCS bid you have to be ranked in the top 14.

It depends. If there was another eligible team then it could have changed a lot of the BCS matchups. If there weren't enough eligible teams they would have expanded the field to top-18 and things would have worked out the same.

I'm not saying BC would have gone to the Rose Bowl, I'm saying that if Illinois had not been an eligible team, BC would have been the last at-large team taken. Who knows where the chips would have fallen.
