I got off this thread assuming that it was just one last cry about him. Then my blood ran cold and I checked the Solari thread.

That would be the last straw.

OK, I am a Jets fan, but I often read your board here b/c of Herm. For the record, I am an anti-Herm. I am glad that he is gone. I hope you will experience my joy as well when he is gone from KC.

NEway, if the rumor is true, that Herm is thinking about hiring Hackett, then he is also thinking about trading for Chad Pennington. Believe it or not, Chad thrived in Hackett's system. Ball control, dink and dunk -- all Chad's strength. Despite its conservative game plan, Chad did well in that system.

BUT, I am not sure JETS are ready to trade Pennington yet. Kellen has yet to prove his worth, so the latest news in NY is that they will indeed keep Chad for one more year.

If this is the case, and Herm REALLY wants Chad, then he will send one of the high draft pick to get him (either 3rd OR 4&5th).

We are going through our own "purging." The word is Rob Ryan (Raider's DC) will soon join Eric Mangini (they worked together at NE, and they share common philosophy about 3-4 defense).

NEway, I REALLY do hope for the best of you guys. Not because I am a Chiefs fan, but because I KNOW how much you suffer under Herm's reign. Happy New Year!

Our two franchises are brothers in pain. Hackett. Raye. Herm. We both struggle beneath the yoke of unenlightened despots.

If Paul Hackett is hired I am seriously done with this franchise. I will find a new team to root for than this good ol' boys network.

There has to be someone in the college ranks to bring in.
If Hackett comes back, I will spend my Sundays away from the NFL especially the Chiefs.

Doesn't matter... STHs will still renew... "any seat upgrades available? Can I possibly pay you any more money Carl please?"

If they hire Hackett I'll have to post a poll to see if

a) I should get the sniper rifle out and get on the roof of the Adams Mark

b) Martyr myself for 72 virgin Chiefs cheerleaders by taking out Herm and Carl

c) Set fire to Arrowhead

d) Sell my fandom on Ebay to the highest bidding franchise and root for them till Carl and Co. is gone.

Absolutely! I don't have a parking pass for the north lot for this game so no tailgating, but we party at collins pub at the base of the Smith tower before games. If you go PM me and maybe I can buy you a beer or something.. Just don't be wearing chiefs stuff! It's too close to Redskins colors..;)

Ebay is not an option. Already been done with the Royals. It is no longer original.

There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. The 2008 Kansas City Chiefs.

This is TRUE story... some of my friends began to drink Pepto Bismol during Herm and Hackett era... No joke...

If the rumor is true... stock up Pepto as many as you can.

Below are Paul Hackett's scoring stats as Chiefs' OC follwed by the team's rank in the NFL in scoring:

1993: 328 (8th)
1994: 319 (13th)
1995: 358 (13th)
1996: 297 (24th)
1997: 375 (5th)

Considering how bad this O is, those #s actually look tasty.

The QBs were Montana, Kreig, Bono, Gannon, and Grbac.

I am not in favor of hiring Hackett, but he should provide an upgrade over Solari and the truncated Coryell playbook.
