View Full Version : Why not re-hire Solari for O-Line Coach?

Solari was a GREAT O-Line coach. So he didnt work well as an OC. So why then shouldnt we try and re-hire him for the capacity that he was best at and was pretty damn good at it?

I just wonder if that thought pops into the heads at One Arrowhead or not.

Why would Solari want to return to KC with a demotion?

I doubt he'd even come back to K.C. although it would be sweet to have him there with Martz as our OC.

He said he would be an O-Line coach somewhere... why not just stay in KC where he has lived for 10 years?

Not everyone is a foot-shuffling porter.

If speculation that he lost the player's respect is true, it's best for all parties if he moved on elsewhere.

Besides we are going to a zone blocking scheme. Not his forte.

I don't want solari near this team.

Teicher said in his article that Solari is/was the main proponent of going with this veteran, aging offensive line. If that's the case, I don't know...

It's easy to be a great coach when you are coaching Roaf, Shields, Waters.....

What was so great about Solari as a line coach? Besides Waters, who's career did he turn around?

There is nothing great about being able to coach up guys who are first-ballot HOF'ers.

The Chiefs need to convince David Gibbs to get on the horn and bring his dad Alex in to coach the O-line.

I would not be opposed to bringing in Jeremy Bates to call the offense and Alex Gibbs to coach the O-line.

he was a good coach when he had world class talent.

Goodbye gone and go away new blood is what we need

Because if Solari is smart he will get as far away from Herm as possible.

Mort seems to think something like this may happen

"David (Overland Park, KS): Who do you think fills the OC role on the Chiefs now that Solari has been let go? I remember reading that they're going to begin utilizing the Denver zone blocking scheme. Think it'll be someone from there?

Chris Mortensen: (11:47 AM ET ) Here's what I have heard and I'll share it for the first time: Herm Edwards wants to bring in Alex Gibbs to install that zone-blocking scheme. That's probably what will happen."

Why was Gibbs fired from the Chiefs in the 90's?

He wasn't, he quit. The Chiefs tried to stop him from going to Denver, but couldn't.

how do we know if he was a great Oline coach? He had a line with two HOFers and an All Pro.
