Scout.com has confirmed that Boise St. University OLT Ryan Clady has declared himself eligible for the 2008 NFL draft.

The projected top-10 selection signed Tuesday with JL Sports (http://www.jlsports.net/) and will begin training this week in Martinsville New Jersey at TEST Sports.

Clady is regarded as the second-rated offensive lineman of the 2008 draft behind University of Michigan's Jake Long (http://det.scout.com/a.z?s=93&p=8&c=1&nid=3248192).

As an interesting aside, former Kansas City Chiefs (http://kan.scout.com/) All-Pro G Will Shields will be involved in training Clady for the draft and NFL Combine.

I care. I would still rather have Long but I doubt he will still be there when we pick, so having a "Shields coached Clady" would be nice too.

Well, I don't know...has he become a personal trainer for hire? Or is he checking him out for the Chiefs?

I'll care more when/if the Chiefs are in trade down mode. I'm sure Shields will help that young man be prepared, and likely give a good word for the Chiefs if they want it.

Well, I don't know...has he become a personal trainer for hire? Or is he checking him out for the Chiefs?Wondering myself? Whats the connection? No way he needs the money. He's still very active in his charity work so he doesn't need to stay busy. Why is he doing this? Our the Chiefs making sure he's trained properly?

My guess is that Will Shields is in association with JL Sports.

Yes, at some point in the future, Will Shields should be hired as O-line coach. I agree whole-heartedly.

Shields recently bought and is running a gym in OP, I think. Not sure about the location, but I know he recently bought it and is actively involved in running it.
