Maybe an extra title? Make him the best paid OL coach in the league and advertise it on his behalf? Maybe both? What do you think?

I wouldn't mind luring him back so that he could be drawn and quartered.

I don't know that he's been a zone blocking guy. Could be, but definitely wasn't here...

Yeah, that really worked out well with Gunther, didn't it? :spock:

I think its time for some new blood. No need to keep recycling guys like Solari and Gun. The new OL coach needs to be a strong teacher, something Solari is not.

NO!

It's best for both parties to move on elsewhere.

Maybe we could also lure Al Saunders back as receivers coach and persuade Trent Green to retire and become our QB coach.

Man, I'd love to see Willie Lanier as LB coach and Frank Gansz as special teams coach. I just can never get enough of the past.

I'll bet Solari would come back if he were promised 30 minutes in a room alone with Dick Curl.

I wonder why the old guard like Willie Lanier aren't coaches. One would think that they have a lot to pass on. I suppose some guys just aren't interested.

Surely, Shields would make a passable OL coach?

No. Didn't I read somewhere that the players had lost all respect for him?

It wouldn't work. I'd love it if it could, but I really don't think it would.

What's the deal with the Chiefs and it's fans trying to re-ignite old glory instead of just moving on?

1. It's unhealthy

2. The "old glory" wasn't that glorious

He coached 2 HOFs and a few other solid guys, its not like he built the Willies from nothing.

I don't know, Mr. Otter. The old glory that was the '69 Chiefs was pretty darn glorious.

In fact, now that I think of it, we haven't done diddly jack squat and can't get up since Warpaint retired. Maybe that's the problem.

Maybe Solari as OL coach is better than Gunther as DC.

I don't disagree with the "new blood" argument. But that's a stronger argument for many other coaching position than the lines. If not Solari or Gibbs, then who?
