I didn't use the "begin" word but I did try date and start.

Thanks for the love though.

Around 11 or 12 is normal although I hear that Herm's began at age 8.

Friday, February 29.

True, but the Chiefs usually start about three weeks after that date.

I think if you Google "When does Dictator Carl and Herm's vacation begin" you will also come up with "February 29th"

I always thought it was March 1st every year.

I don't think they'll have the luxury of waiting this year.
Not if they want to acquire the services of a top flight FA Guard.
And say a Marcus Trufant or Randall Gay. We'll need to act fast.

We might be able to be patient about a FA WR though.

I don't see the chiefs being Huge players in Free agency. A couple of linemen, and some spare parts. It just seems as though they are looking toward building through the draft...at least that is the party line now.

That's why the Free Agency period this off-season is key.
There will be several established young veterans at positions of need.
And many of those players will be affordable.

I'm not expecting them to go apeshit in FA.
Randall Gay, Ryan Lilja and a Drew Carter would do it for me.

Get everything else through the draft.

That probably won't do it for Herm.

Didn't I read somewhere that they were shortening the length between picks? What was it 15 minutes and cutting it to 10? I wonder if they will do more drafting or stop at the same place. 10 minutes isn't a whole lot of time for Einstein Edwards to figure anything out. Hope he has several to help him. Any more talk going on about Carl's role?

I'm a huge fan of the first two, but I'm not familiar with Drew Carter.

Carter plays for Carolina. He's a four-year guy.
Should be relatively inexpensive.
6'3, 200. 500+ yards this past season, 4 TD's.

Low to be a legitimate #2, but I think he could improve here.

I'd personally like to have a Bernard Berrian, but I'm trying to curb my enthusiasm. Just getting Randall Gay and Ryan Lilja is going to be difficult. Getting those two AND Berrian? Unreal.

any interest in Justin Gage... I know he is slow, but a big physical receiver seems to be Herm's baby.

That sounds like a solid pickup to me, but my gut feeling says that Herm is set on Webb being #2. As gay as that is.

There is no way Herm is set on that right now. Webb would have to shock a ton of people in training camp.

God I hope Herm isn't set on it. But he has been on the Jeff Webb PR spree for quite awhile. Kind of like he was on Chris Hannon's then cut him.

I know, and I'm still pissed about that. He has talent. If he blows up in Carolina I'll be very pissed.

Gage is another WR on my short list. I actually would prefer him over Carter. I thought I heard that he was going to resign with Tennessee though...

BUT, yeah...
He played well this season. Didn't see much of the endzone, but I think he could improve in Kansas City. He'd be a great complement to Bowe.

I really thought Webb was going to lock that job up this season.
He was far too inconsistent to even be considered our #3.
Parker outplayed him.
