PC Help ? Locked up in safe mode !

My daughters PC is goofed up, I was running some software to clean it up. Guess I was wrong, it's locked up. Ctrl Atl Delete doesn't respond. Is it safe to turn off and start over ?

If it's locked up there's nothing to do but reboot and see what happens. Might be fine, you might need to start from scratch... anything worse than that is highly unlikely.

an 'F' key is the answer. As it boots. Somebody will remember specifics, I don't.

Reboot it, press F8 when it comes up, choose "Last Known Good Configuration" . The only thing you should need to fix a problem on it is SpyBot Search and Destroy and a good anti-virus.

Yup, that is what you need. Too many spammers and pron pics for us to do it any other way now.

She got hijacked,the home page loaded up over and over and over at a rapid pace, like 70 web browsers in a 10 seconds. Then she had some worms, malware, usual crap that steals passwords, accounts, the usual stuff.

Finally got the safe mode to work right and used AVG, spybot and adaware, cleaned it up. I told her to go agead and change her passwords for email and all bank accounts, credit cards to be on the safe side of things.
