They had a piece on it on CBS This Sunday Morning or whatever the name of the show is. We have lost so many promising singers to plane crashes: Jim Croce, Lynryd Skynryd, Patsy Cline, Jim Reeves, Otis Redding, Ricky Nelson, John Denver. I think the music died a little each day one of these greats parished. I'm glad they keep the day commerated as we have lost way too many.

I was born the year the Day the Music Died. Surprised no more people have looked at this site. Maybe you should change the heading of it. I'm sure everyone know the Don McClean(sp) song. Wish more would pay tribute to it. Change your header to The Day the Music Died and see what happens.

Kids. :shake:

Try Buddy Holly. Look him up if you need to, he was the hottest thing going at the time of his death on 2/3/1959.

The Holly tragedy should have never happened. They got in a light aircraft with a 21 year old pilot that had neither the training nor the experience to fly at night in a snowstorm.

what did you think of Busey's portrayal--good stuff imo. great flick, and an especially poignant musical ending.

I remember seeing a comment on the wall in the SF subway shortly after he killed himself "Sure, like Kurt Cobain needed another hole in his head"

RIP Buddy

I thought it was great. Busey did all of his own singing in that movie. I went to Coffeyville College with Busey in the early 60's.

I didn't know that it was Feb. 3 of the year I was born. Thanks, Dr. Fine.

Waylon Jennings was playing with the Crickets back then and gave up his seat on that plane.
