Where's the risk? What's he going to do, get paralyzed from the waist down?

He might not have half the heart, but he does wear his boyfriend's necklace.

Agreed, although it is possible to have what is known as incomplete paralysis.

Risk...he could break his spine up high in the neck area making him a quadrapegic meaning he'd be like Christopher Reeve needing a ventilator to breath and absolutely no movement from the head down.

When asked about having to practice, Fotheringham responded "I don’t think of it as practice, I think of it as a fun way to live my life"
Good for the kid. There's too many folks who feel life ends when faced with life in a chair. It's a struggle every day for me.

I loved how he said he was glad to be in the chair. I think a lot of people take walking for granted. He's a source of encouragement, especially for those who are new to that situation.

It was the act of the back flip, but this kids attitude towards life, that impressed me.
