The BETTER old days.

And they are the "Good Old Days" compared to the cess pool the Chiefs are stuck in THESE days.

Hmmmm. Let's break it down. Undefeated deep into the season, scoring touchdowns, getting turnovers, winning on the road, playing tough for over 4 quarters. I would take some of that now.

So, you like illusions Mr. Fax?

I don't think that was an illusion, Mr. milkman. I think that was a solid turnover and a touchdown. Sure, the DV era had its downside; we didn't draft worth crap and we didn't win a championship. But, right now we can't even move the ball - let alone score a touchdown. One of our top three players is the punter.

You have to admit, it was easier to watch that team than watch the one Herm's been putting on the field.

In Green Bay, in overtime.

I can't imagine Herm going for the throat like that.

The illusion was that team didn't suck.

It was terrible watching that defense.

It's funny, but wen that '03 defense lost Mike Maslowski, everything seemed to fall apart for them.

Ah. I see what you mean, now. That part was an illusion, I agree. When that side of the ball fell apart, there were too many pieces to count. Sort of like what's happened now only in reverse .... except that our defense is not as dominant as our offense was then. Oh ... and our current offense is much worse than our defense was.

Vermeil's massive failure on the defensive side of the ball is well documented .... but c'mon, there is no comparison to the big lump of crap team we are fielding now.

Maybe Herm will succeed in building a future, but the Vermeil Chiefs would destroy the Herm Chiefs.

The Vermiel/Saunders offense would score 30+ points ..... game Ovah.

Dick's Chiefs sucked.

Herman ****ing Edwards' Chiefs suck.

We are only debating the level of suckage.

Ha! I was listening to 'classic Howard,' a Friday rerun, yesterday. It was from Monday, November 17, 2003. Howard opened with 'Arty says the best team in the NFL is the Chiefs.' This was the day after the Bengals loss, and apparently an ominous portent of weeks to come.

Bittersweet. What'd Denver drop on us, 55? What'd Minnesota drop on us, 155?

why yes ..... yes we are! :)

really no debate though

Vermeil offense = Elite
Vermeil kick returns = Elite

Herm = nothing Elite (actually nothing even 'very good')

Amazing statistic: the Chiefs gained more yards on that one play than Herm's offense gained all last season.*

*More or less.

complete and total suckage vs. 1/3 suckage...

when that is our baseline, that vid is indeed from the good-old-days!

It's fascinating, actually. Herm said he wanted to slow the game down and succeeded in slowing it down so much, we've gone back in time 30 years. It's like that one time Superman flew around Earth so fast that it rotated backwards into the past and Lois didn't die.

Our current suck is 70s suck, or worse. Personally, I would take the DV suck over this suck. At least every game wasn't a pre-determined, automatic loss before the coin flip.

If Priest would have not gotten run down from behind in the third quarter, the game would have changed dramatically. His fumble led to the points that defeated us in that game. I imagine he still has nightmares about it. That one play could have made all the difference in that game.

The playoff loss to Indy? Yeah, that, or either Johnnie Morton and/or Marc Boerigter could have been nice enough to catch the should-have-been TD passes that hit them both right in the ****ing hands.
