Looks like the Redskins released him. He's better than Anyone else we have outside of Bowe, young and he will probably be fairly cheap. Sign him Carl.

It's time to get some Blue Springs football blood into this team.

Supposedly, he got released for having a poor work ethic, exactly wat a rebuilding team does not need.

Yep.

Almost every time I've heard/read Lloyd's name mentioned, the word "lazy" is usually soon to follow.

No thanks.

If we're going by the fact that he's "better than anyone we have outside of Bowe," that would take about 80% of the league into play.

Just about anyone would be a talent upgrade.

Sorry but pencil me out.

We're talking about a guy who's very best NFL season was a 48 reception 733 yard year with 5 TDs

And that was three years ago.

I honestly think some rookie WR could do not just as good but better when you look at the typical type of years Brandon has.

Not a big fan of his, after all the rumors about his personality.

His dad was my 8th grade algebra teacher, BTW.

His best season was 2005, when he had 48 catches for 733 yards. He has never started 16 games in a season, and only started one game last year. Why would sign him. He is no improvement on Webb and Parker

I've heard all the same things, it seems like - poor work ethic, doesn't get along well with others, not well liked by teammates. Same story in San Fran as it was in Washington. And the guy has never really been that productive in the NFL anyway.

Lloyd is a 3rd WR. We need one of those and a 2nd guy. I say sign him, right now we have Bowe, Webb, and Sippio. Lloyd is better than Webb and Sippio thats for sure.

Bah, he is more interested in being a rapper than being an elite football player.

Which is a shame because he has the skills.

Again, we don't just sign everyone that gets waived, simply to see if they'll stick - quality choices need to be made here, not just every yutz with a number, geesh.

The view from washington:

Snyder Tells Lloyd: That’s a Rap

When the Redskins cut Brandon Lloyd yesterday, they gave up on more than a failed receiver. They gave up on a failed rapper, too.

So as he heads off in search of another deep-pocketed sucker, it’s worth checking out his songcraft one last time.

The tracks now have a profundity that was lacking when Lloyd debuted ‘em a couple years back. “I Get that Chedda,” for example. Lloyd got $10 million just for signing a reported five-year, $30 million deal with the Skins in 2006.

He had 25 catches in two years here. No touchdowns as a Redskin. None. But he gets to keep Dan Snyder’s, um, cheese.

And on “Superstar,” a guest vocalist tells Lloyd, “If you are what you say you are, a superstar, then have no fear.”

Again, no touchdowns as a Redskin. None.

And so he goes. Not surprisingly, Lloyd remains a free agent as a rapper, too.

Ive got a buddy who is a HUGE Skins fan. Dont even get him started about Lloyd. Dude basically raped the skins for 10 Mil.

I wouldn't judge him too harshly on his time in DC, that offense blows and he didn't get a ton of playing time.

I would be fine if we signed him to a reasonable, incentive-laden deal, as I'm guessing he is motivated to show his tenure with the Redskins was a fluke. He's still young and he looked like he was going to blossom into a star after leaving San Fran.

Justin Gage, Bernard Berrian, Bryant Johnson and Devery Henderson would be.

Lloyd comes off as a cocky wannabe star, since he doesn't apply himself. Too bad his older brother couldn't knock some sense into him, he's a hell of an athlete when he tries.

Crapola...

Ah well... Signing Bryant Johnson will help me get over this quickly.
I get the feeling though that the Receiver we'll sign is Devery Henderson.

Being an alum of a local school is not a reason to sign a terrible WR with a history of motivation and attitude problems.

Stupid imo, he could've started a few other places and made about as much money if not more.

I never really understood that one either. Seems like he missed his best chance to become a starter somewhere else and be paid like one.

I don't know, settling maybe? You'd think he'd want more, but if he likes earning a fat paycheck and playing half the time, more power to him. I'd think everyone would want to start and be "the man". He is a solid runner, reciever and blocker as well and would've had a starting job somewhere. TB would've loved him.

Brandon could be a good WR with some motivation. I think he would be a good fit for the Chiefs. And how can any of you know if he is lazy, hearsay? Any man in the NFL has to have a decent work ethic, especially one who actually had some playing time.

I played football with him. He is talented beyond anything but he thinks thats all he has to do. Show up...which worked in HS and college.

Yea I get what your saying, but most D1 NFL athletes have that mind set. But to make it where they are, they have to have a decent work ethic. I am not denying his sucks, but it can't be something to fret over if were looking for another young talented WR.

25 catches and ZERO TD's in 2 seasons with the Skins. The Redskins traded two draft picks to the San Francisco 49ers to acquire Lloyd before the 2006 season. They then signed him to a long-term contract that included $10 million in guaranteed money

OUCH!

I played against Betts and Lloyd in HS. Actually, Brandon played a lot of corner in HS and followed me all over the field when we played them. He was assigned to shut me down, and I had my best HS game ever that night. 10 catches for 192 yards. We got creamed, but at least I will always have that story. He was a hell of an athlete though, that is for sure.

No thanks, his work ethic is evident in his play...a gifted athlete capable of Circus Time catches, but he's happy just getting by on natural ability & not putting in the work it takes to catch'em consistently.

Theres plenty of cheaper & more driven talent out there IMO.
