I've heard a couple diffrent places there could be a deal sending him here by Friday, anyone else hear this?

I guess he said on some live show that hes close to going to a AFC West team that wears red and needs a CB.

I'm all for it if it does happen, I would assume we would be giving up a late round pick or two. I've also heard they are somewhat interested in Wesley, maybe he could be worked into the trade? I think it could be a huge steal if it happesn though.

Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones is the poster child for everything that is wrong (http://www.usatoday.com/sports/columnist/saraceno/2007-02-22-pacman-jones_x.htm) with the NFL. NFL teams continue to draft thugs and convicts without regarding for their moral character or criminal record. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is considering a proposal where NFL players will be kicked out of the league after three strikes (http://dwil.wordpress.com/2007/02/26/three-strikes-in-the-nfl-behind-the-veil-of-the-roger-goodell-gene-upshaw-lie/).

Here is a rap sheet look at all of Pacman’s brushes with the law since joining the NFL’s Tennessee (http://bumpshack.com/2007/03/02/pacman-jones-criminal-record/#) Titans:
http://bumpshack.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/pacman_jones.jpg

July 13, 2005- Arrested and charged with assault and felony vandalism after a nightclub altercation. This began Pacman Jones NFL rap sheet. He already had a lengthy one from high school and college.

September 5, 2005- Adam was invited to attend the Nashville (http://bumpshack.com/2007/03/02/pacman-jones-criminal-record/#) Sports Council Kickoff Luncheon. Jones went off on a verbal tirade while being told to wait for his car after the event. He then refused to tip the valet service.

October 2005- State of West Virginia (http://bumpshack.com/2007/03/02/pacman-jones-criminal-record/#) filed a petition stating that Jones had not been contacting his probation officer and that he had not reported his July 2005 arrest. The judge extended the probation for just 90 days.

March 23, 2006- Charged with marijuana possession in Fayetteville, Georgia. He went on to claim (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/03/01/bc.fbn.titans.ap/index.html) that he knew how to beat the NFL’s drug test.

August 25, 2006- Arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication after being ordered by the cops to leave a Murfreesboro night club several times. Jones claimed a woman stole his wallet. The woman claimed that Jones spat on her. The judge in the case gave Pacman six months probation (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2727784) and told him to stay away from the club.

October 26, 2006- Jones was issued a citation for misdemeanor assault after a female student from Tennessee State University claimed that Jones spit in her face at a Nashville night club.

Feburary 19, 2007- The facts are disputed and no charges have been made yet, but Jones was in the middle of a fight and shooting at a strip club in Las Vegas (http://bumpshack.com/2007/03/02/pacman-jones-criminal-record/#) that left one man paralyzed and two more wounded. The fight broke out after Jones showered strippers on stage with $81,000 dollars. The club owner claims Jones was beating a strippers head against the bar while claiming to kill one of the club’s employees.

January 3, 2008- Pacman is accused of punching Wanda S. Jackson in the face at an Atlanta (http://bumpshack.com/2007/03/02/pacman-jones-criminal-record/#) strip club called the Body Tap Strip Club. Jackson says Jones reached over the counter and sucker punched her (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3197653) in her left eye.
The above time line doesn’t include his sentence of one year in prison for a bar fight in Morgantown, West Virginia (http://bumpshack.com/2007/03/02/pacman-jones-criminal-record/#) while in college. The sentence was later suspended in exchange for two years of probation (because he is a really good football player).
Here is a look at the options the Tennessee Titans have (http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070223/SPORTS01/702230415/1027/RSS0201) if they decide to cut Pacman Jones. He doesn’t only need to be cut, but Jones needs to serve some time. He has been given preferential treatment his entire life because he is good at playing football.

Is this really a good thing? Unless we get him for Wesley or a 7th rounder, we will be giving too much for a guy who lives as close to the edge as he does.

I believe people need second or twentieth chances... so I am for a cheap, one year deal. I think CP is a good GM to bear down on him, and I think Herm is a good hearted coach who loves his guys and wants them to be good on and off the field. Maybe I am too nice of a person to hope Jones can turn his life around, but going to a team that needs him as a return man and a CB, plus a possible leadership role for him to finally realize he is a grown ass man who needs to grow up. it probably wont happen though, so oh well.

RustShack
03-04-2008, 03:22 PM
I'm pretty sure he will play in the NFL again, and I think it will be this year too. He might miss some of the offseason work outs, but I doubt its much. Also he doesn't HAVE to start day one, even though I'm sure a slighly out of shape Pacman would be better than a rookie and he would end up starting anyways. It's not like we would be giving up a lot for him either.

Some rumors make sense, while other don't.

This falls in to the "WTF" category.

First, Herm prides himself on having high-character guys - team first guys. Example: how many of Vermeil's players are still on this roster? Very few. Guys like Dante Hall and others with a sense of entitlement have been shipped out.

Second, why would ANY team, give up ANYTHING, this year, or in the future for a guy that may never play again?

His last request for re-instatement was denied. Odds are slim-to-none that he plays again before 2009, IF THEN.

Pacman Jones is the POLAR OPPOSITE of what Herm is looking for.

One of Pacmans biggest problems is surrounding himself with the wrong types of people.

If we can get him into this organization keep him away from the character types that get him in trouble and give himself a chance to prove himself i think he might be well worth it.

Randy Moss was a horrible pick up by the patriots right?

The chiefs pull serious weight in the NFL and can easily say "yo commish, Pacman is changed and WILL start this season Thanks" And it will be done :P

This isn't an organization that takes trouble players lightly and Herm and ...eww Carl...will put a firm grip on him and some serious words in his contract to ensure he behaves.

It's customary to see people in the news who unfairly diminish the public perception of their race, gender, or occupation by their actions, but Pacman Jones is the rare individual that is capable of diminishing public perception of stripclub patrons.

Randy Moss was reportedly a locker room asshole, and selfish on the field, but in fairness to him, He's not been on the crime blotter for shootings(more than once) and other violent, drug and gang related bullshit.

Maybe some of you are too young to remember the embarrassment that came along with Bam Morris and Vanover....I'm not.no - he just decided to run over the traffic cop because she wouldn't let him go where he wanted.

I can see the press conference now.

Reporter: Herm, do you really think you will be able to take on a problem like Pacman and make him part of the team? Do you have a plan to get him on board?

Herm: It's okay...It's okaaaayy. I am here to coach the players on the field. I plan on telling him stories about fig newtons, and how my father made me sweep the back patio....even the corners. I figure that should be enough. Look at Jared Allen...he's cleaned himself up. I may have to dig deep for Pacman and get a few never-before-heard anecdotes from my youth and playing days, but I'm up for it.

Ummm. I'm not so sure about that, Mr. bowener. McNair told me a story about how he invited PackinHeatMan to his foundation office for a talk about life in the NFL. To make a long story short, PackItInMan told Steve to shove it up his ass and that, if he ever had to make a choice between his friends (homies?) and the NFL, he would choose his friends (homies?). Then he got up and walked out. A real nice guy, apparently. Smart, too.

Worth it imo.

That is what I was going to say. If it was said, at all, it seems to me that it was Pac Man wishful thinking ... maybe he looked at teams that needed a CB and made up the stuff. Just because a player makes a statement does not make it true. I give Kingless/Herm that much credit ... i.e. not to bring him in.

I'll be greatly disappointed if the Chiefs or any team picks him up. He has had too many chances already and has yet to clean up his life. I think he should never play again... because of what he has done and as a warning to future players. I think the Comish can do that based upon the fact he got in trouble recently.

Now, a little spectulation on my part ... had this come up during the D.V. years when we were 1 or 2 defensive stops/players away from maybe accomplishing something big ... then I would have been for it. But, as many of you have said ... we are rebuilding ... I say we not take on this cancer.

Hopefully, we will be equally as bad next year and Clark will finally be hit with reality and bring in a whole new adminstration ... who are excellent NFL people and up to date with their knowledge and actions. Therefore, we don't need the trouble of a Pac Man to hold over the next GM/HC's head.

RibKing67

There is no way that Pac Man is allowed to come here with a strip club named Temptations in this town. He needs to go to Green Bay where there is no temptation within 200 miles.

In all reality though, its not a bad idea to go get him on the cheep. He has been out a year and maybe just maybe he has learned a lesson. He is one hell of a CB as long as he is on the feild.

Good point. I never really understood how that place became so popular with Chiefs players.

I remember when it was th Chouteau Inn. On Saturday nights, they would have a male revue for the ladies - they would have curtains all around the tables next to the stages, with only the bar and pool table areas open. Guys could drink for free from 8-9 pm, if you stayed outside the stage area around the bar or pool tables. Good lord, we had a few drunken nights there. You have never seen more guys pounding these little 8 oz free beers in your life.
