Alright, I'm geeked though disappointed that this will be the first home opener I've had to watch over the internet.

Prediction:
KC 5
Detroit 4

Meche goes 7 solid. Gordon goes yard. Soria with the save.

Hey, it could happen.

Home opener with the Yankees next week. I'll be there right behind the yanks bench. It's gonna be bad ass. Last time I went to the home opener they reeled off that huge winning streak to start the season and we almost won the division. I'm hoping I'm the good luck charm

Ah, it's good to have some Royals baseball back on the air. Can't wait to have an "official" Kansas City Royals baseball is on the air!

Hopefully we'll have a CP get together for one of the Royals games later on during the summer. I know I'd be down with that.

No I grew up a Royals fan, they were my favorite team even ahead of the Chiefs. One of my cherished childhood memories is watching George and the Royals beat the Yankees the year after their WS win in person. But the strikes, the PEDs, the MLB's focus on two teams, Pete Rose... There's a whole list of things, not all Glass and the Royals fault, that have soured me beyond redemption on the MLB. Somewhat like finding out that your childhood hero is a fat, alcoholic, wife-beating, racist, dead-beat dad.

I'm sorry I typed that though, just because I've turned my back on this whole lot doesn't mean I should piss in the pool.

If you're enjoying it, just ignore my disillusioned ass.

Hey, I looked in the mirror the other day a noticed that middle age sent me gift announcing it's impending arrival. Now I just need to stick a couple, 20 lbs in a burlap sack and chuck it off a bridge.

So I'm withholding the fat jokes.

Unless they're really fat.

I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. That Tiger lineup is sick, and Verlander is a tough bastard. I think we lose 7-2.

And MLB didn't do the Royals any favors with roadies against the Tigers and Twins to go in with the home opener against the Yanks. We could conceivably be looking at 3 wins after our first three series. :shake:

Have you ever posted a positive comment about the Royals? If you hate them so much, why even pay attention?

I posted one once back in 1985

one thing this team has a lot of troubles in is allowing the other teams starting pitchers to go long times in games... They NEVER work the count...

Thats been a problem for a looooong time.

That and being unable to develop starting pitchers "in house"

Meche usually goes pretty deep into games, at least he did last year. Plus, he's in his prime, so pitch count isn't as much of a concern with him as it is w/ younger guys. The dude is a workhorse.

Yes.....now we're getting to their bullpen. This is getting exciting....
