I know it's tomorrow. I figured I'd just throw it up here to have some discussions and such.

I predict we ride the wave of emotions just like when beltran had a walk off a couple of years ago to a good season

That season with Mendy Lopez's jack was one for the ages.

Didn't we beat Boston in last year's opener?

The season is LONG, don't get too up or too down after one game. But I did like what I saw yesterday.

For me, the key to the season will be Greinke. If he develop into a top of the rotation starter to pair with Meche and Banny, that will give us three great pitchers that can beat any team in the league.

the worst thing to happen to some players is something good. like mendy lopez jack or scott pose jack or barkley hitting an early 3 pointer

the mendy lopez / beltran game, where we got 6 in the 9th on opening day against chicago, was 2004, not 2003. 03 was the good year. 04 and 05 were the worst years in team history.

but then again 02 and 03 saw detroit lose a total of 225 games and look where they are

Official Game threads are only allowed the day of a game.i didn't see the word "official" nor did I see the ***** so it must not be the official game thread. If it were I would have stayed out of this thread.:)

Who thinks Bannister is going to take a step back this year? I think he'll be alright, but not the ERA he had last year. I'm thinking 4.44 or so ERA sounds about right. I just want to see Greinke finally pull it together and be our premier pitcher.

I'm expecting to see Hochevar up here pretty quickly. By the end of May

I think Banny will pull together a hell of a year, but I don't have high hopes for zack anymore. Maybe I quit on him to early, but we'll find out this season.

Exactly. This thread cannot be official or it will jinx the 1st place Royals. Beavis must create all "official game threads", at least until the 1st lost.

All those in favor raise your left thumb. :thumb:

I plan to put up a thread for the Friday evening game, but I'm confident in the Royals' ability to lose a game by then.
