I can't post the mock because it's protected content, but it listed a funny trade down scenario:

Chiefs get Denver's picks at 12 and 42 for the 5th overall pick.

Denver selects Glenn Dorsey.

KC selects Chris Williams.

Both Longs, Ryan and McFadden were off the board.

That would be......interesting to say the least.

ROFL, I have to laugh because if that ever happened the Raiduhs with really hit the fan.

Hmm. Very interesting. My happiness would depend entirely on who they grab in the second. Chris Williams is damnnnnn good, but Dorsey's a fugging monster. That second-rounder would have to be a damn good player, too.

I'm not advocating the trade down, but what if this is how it turned out?

R1-12: Chris Williams

R2-35: Sam Baker

R2-42: Brandon Flowers

Or

R1-12: Chris Williams

R2-35: James Hardy

R2-42: Antoine Cason

I'll take option #2

I would take Williams and Cason over Dorsey, but that's personal preference; I'm extremely high on Cason. If they went and took a guy I don't like too much, I'd think the trade is pretty shit, since I'm so high on Dorsey.

I like your scenarios, I just don't like the idea of giving Dungver Glenn Dorsey.

Yeah, but that about all they'd get considering they wouldn't have another pick until the mid-4th round.

Like I said in the header, it's funny that someone thinks that:

1) Denver and KC would trade on draft day.

2) Denver would even make that trade knowing they'd be sitting idle until the mid-4th round.

Even Glenn Dorsey isn't worth that, IMO.

I'd trade down in a heartbeat to add a relatively high #2.

Chris Williams, Antoine Cason, and Early Doucet would be a fabulous two round trio.
That would take loads of pressure off of us going into Day 2.

If Glenn Dorsey is healthy he IS worth that. Would the chiefs be better with a MONSTER DT, the hottest prospect at his position in years, or Tamba and Pollard?

If Dorsey is gone I would consider it, none of the other possible 5 selections stand out for the Chiefs, at least taking into account my opinion of Jake Long.

You just said yourself there may be reason to be concerned about his health.
I think this team is better off adding more talent than they are spending their #1 on a DT. We just invested two Day 1 picks last year at that spot.

I'm not opposed to drafting Dorsey, but I'd seriously consider trading down 7 spots and taking a Chris Williams at 12. That gives me two of the first ten picks in the 2nd Round.

No. 1 Dorsey is better than any other 2 options.

That's ridiculous.
You aren't going to convince me that Dorsey by himself is better than a Chris Williams, Brian Brohm/Jerod Mayo/Kentwan Balmer pairing could be. You'd be improving at TWO different positions.

I know Dorsey's an elite prospect, but come on.

Well at least with this scenario the trade value is probably realistic.

My thought is I think we need as many studs as possible, Herm thinks we just need bodies so maybe we would do this trade. I would think Carl would be hesitant with a division rival however.

Sims was a bust at #6 overall maybe if we do the trade we get lucky and so is Dorsey.

For some reason, I'd be OK with this. Throw in all the Donkos 2009 picks and I'll take it:).

Blech. If you did this horrid trade giving a great player to our greatest rival, why pick 2 OT in the first 2 picks? Maybe Nicks and move him to G. I'd rather grab a great WR prospect like Doucet at #35. Williams, Doucet, Flowers. Maybe with another team, but not the Donks, and not for Dorsey.

If it wasn't a division opponent, I might think it was feasible.

If we could pull off this trade, but not Wesley for the 4th... I'll be pissed.
