I would be happy with Calipari... His wife was a KU Cheerleader. So, if Bill and his OSU cheerleader leave... bring back Cal.

Herm could moonlight for ya.

Calpari also has the Addias deal, same as KU, which is pretty important these days.

We should wait to see if he is staying or leaving before we start worrying about the next coach.

This question is silly. I've got a better one that could potentially be a more productive use of our time.

If hostile space aliens invade the planet earth, any chance that nuclear weapons will destroy them?

We're all agreed it won't be Frank Martin?

if Bill Self does leave. Give Me:
Larry Brown! he's not doing anything!
Or promote Danny Manning...I'd be fine with that.

I mentioned this numerous times if different threads but I would really like.......

Bob Knight.

Of course the recruiting would take a HUUUUGE hit because the pre-madonnas today wouldn't want to play for him. That and he'd only be around for a few years.

I'd also take a look at Gonzaga's HC if KU is gonna look outside the family tree which I doubt they would.

My choice would be the pretty boy from Villanova. Jay Wright?

Bottom line on ESPN is officially reporting that Okie State is prepared to OFFICIALLY make an offer to Bill Self. Not news but it's not going away.

Absolutely not.

If Bob Knight was coaching these kids KU has now, KU would have gone undefeated the last 2 seasons.

Bob Knight - NO
Is Mark Few the HC for Gonzaga? I would be fine with him, I think he was a candidate when we hired Self.

I have said before that I don't like Bill Self and what not, but a championship win would most certainly flip my past opinion on him. Well, beating Roy in the Final 4 already did that. I for one want Self to stay regardless of what I've said on him in the past. Yes, I can change my mind, that's what winning in March does!

I really dont see why you guys are so pissed at losing Self. He is horrible in game coach, if you got Calpari you would have upgraded quite a bit.

Heh, I thought the same thing re: Calipari if Self were to leave.

Another name that should be high on the list = Jay Wright (Villanova)

Contracts mean nothing.

you're right, any coach in the world would leave their job to come to mecca, i mean kansas, to play for wooden nickels and jujubees.. just for the honor

Yeah pretty much. Except for Roy Williams, Billy Donavon, Tom Crean and a couple of others.

LEAVE OUR COACH ALONE!

BTW he got a huge contract extension last year after he was rumored for the NC State job. It'd be almost as pricey to buy him out as to match T-Boone's $$$$.

How about Mark Few? That'd be my pick, if you can lure him.
