View Full Version : What did you drink while KU made NCAA basketball history?

You knew it was going to be an historic game. You just knew in your heart that the mighty Jayhawks would emerge from the midwest, the cradle of basketball civilization, to conquer not only Memphis, but also the unabashed arrogance of the west and east coast media. Y

You knew that this was a team of destiny who would go down in the history books as the greatest NCAA team of all time, and that soon after the words detailing its greatness were recorded, the history books would be locked away and sealed forever because no team can ever hope to approach the greatness that we witnessed on the court in San Antonio last night.

So given that this was going to be a once in a lifetime event, surely it demanded that you select your beverages for the evening accordingly.

Did you sip Cristal from your finest stemware? Did you tap into your single malt reserves and break out that bottle that you tucked away for just such an historic event? Maybe you are just a simple, blue collar Joe who splurged and went with the PBR bottles instead of your usual Red White and Blue cans?

Tell us, please, what beverage you chose to accompany history!

I went to Dairy Queen with a shotgun before the game. You'd be surprised all the great drinks they'll give you when you do that.

Way too much vodka....and then, to make my life even more miserable today...me my buddy, and my fiancee cracked open a bottle of Dom Perignon for the victory toast.

I'm in a world of hurt today.

The MU fans, as is their custom, drank something very, very bitter.

I started with some Willett Bourbon, but the Jayhawks seemed kind of flat. I switched to Jim Beam at about the 12 minute mark in the first half. They played better after that.

Started with two black and tans (with bass, mmmm) and then moved on to several Fat Tires. Shots - washington red apple - Soco and lime - Apple Jack - and a bushmills bomb were scattered throughout the binge.

Eh, I started when I got home from work after 5 with a couple bottles of Sam Adams. That was done while grilling steaks. Then a couple of Jack Daniels and Diet Pepsis during the game. Then a celebratory Sam Adams after the game. :)

Screw you. I hardly ever get a chance to drink from the Dixie cup of Vengeance, and you sweep it away with the whisk broom of apathy?

I hope you get a painful rectal itch that leaves you with dirty, stinky fingernails.

$1 22oz Blvd Beers at a bar close to my apt.

Granted I was the only Kansas fan in the bar. MU fans at this time of year have nothing to do but root against whatever team KU is playing. HAHA Demarre Carroll was at the bar and I asked him, not doing so much at this time of year huh? (jk i didn't say that but he was there at the bar) I fell to my knees when Chalmers made that 3. I honestly thought the game was over when Arthur missed that rebound. My head was in my hands and then I watched the last KU possesion in regulation with one last itty bitty oz of hope and Mario drained that sum bitch.

I can say I honestly hope you all get to one day enjoy watching one of your favorite teams win it big . ( I hope for all of us, it's the Chiefs).

If Mizzou makes the College World Series, I'll pull for 'em. If K-State gets a crack at a championship, I'll pull for 'em.

So long as they aren't playing Kansas.

Actually, KU did make NCAA basketball history last night. KU's 37 wins is the most ever for a National Champion.

I drank iced tea and water. I like to remember the big games by not drinking.

And I said this before, but I think MU has a legitimate shot at winning the football national championship next year. In fact, I enjoy watching your team when you aren't playing KU. And I might enjoy it more, if Frazod wasn't a bag of douche.

budweiser.

I'm something of a beer snob and don't normally drink American style Lagers...

but I had been drinking bud at my father in laws while watching the UNC game so there was really no other option. I'm afraid I'm now bound to watch all KU games at my fils and drink buds.

Ironically, KU's '88 team has the distinction of having the most losses of any National Champion. (11)
