No video captures my excitement of this shot as much as this one. Seriously, this is the video of the year!

I wish i could experience that feeling every day, i dont think it matters where you were when that happened, everyone went crazy. Were you on mass street after?

I was at home with my wife, 6 year old son, and my 2 year old daughter came to sit on my lap after Rose banked in that 3... she sat with me watching the game as the KU good luck charm.

I didnt go to mass, as I was in Lees Summit.

I did go with my son to the celebration at Memorial Stadium on Tuesday.

Oh gotcha, i was thinking about going to that but was way to hung over from the night before and it was rainy day. Mass after we won was the craziest thing i have ever been to. It was like my spring break in padre this year times 100 (without the boobs).

I was in a local sports bar that had a fair share of KU fans watching, drinking, eating. Many times throughout the night there were cheers. The backdoor cut by Kaun and so on. I voiced my 'dislike' for Digger Phelps after he said that was the correct call (no tech) on the Memphis player slamming the ball down.

When Mario hit that shot the crowd cheering was the loudest I've ever heard in a sports bar. Obviously not as loud as AFH but man that was awesome.

Eh, I would have agreed with you at the time because of the emotion, but I quickly realized that you can't call a tech in that situation. He was frustrated with himself more than with an opponent or official.

Annnnnnnd? I have kept hearing people saying "You don't want the NC decided by the officials, you want the players to decide it". Well, CDR did make the decision to slam the ball to the ground and allowing it to bounce 20 feet in the air. He was basically forcing the refs to make a call - which they didn't.

We won and I'm happy. But if the rule states to make the call, then make the damn call. If it was some BS foul, then fine, you have a little room to work with. But, missing that call could have cost the Hawks the championship.

I also don't like the "frustrated with himself more than the officials" deal. Do the refs need to ask each player "Are you mad at me or yourself" before making that call?

I didn't watch the video but, given the location, I imagine the fan reaction had something to do with but sechs.

I was in KC at a bar when the shot went in. The place went ape-shit.

Then, since it was johnson county, all the geezers left 10 inutes after the game, while I was only on my 3rd celebration shot.

So I decided to head to Larryville to watch the true celebration. (no, I wasn't the one driving). I'm so glad I went. Things like this don't come along every day, and the celebration was like nothing I've ever seen

I live too far away (Pennsylvania) or I would have been there.

In 1988, I remember that several teachers at my elementary school in Leavenworth were KU grads. They weren't at school the day after Danny and the Miracles.

I saw a video of Allen Fieldhouse after the game was over. It was wild, but not as good as the video in this thread because this was the moment of the miracle. After that, you kind of felt like we were going to win, and we didn't need a miracle to pull it out in overtime. The greatest fulfillment of the evening came when Chalmers hit that shot.

I think it's in with that link for other videos in this thread. Stormed the court. That is the only time the court at AFH should be stormed by fans.

I agree - I watched the game with some friends at Allen Fieldhouse and the moment Chalmers hit that three was probably one of the most intense emotional reactions I've ever personally witnessed in a crowd. The excitement was just overwhelming.

Now enough of this KU shit. I'm about to find out how the "ignore thread" option works. nlm :D

Both videos give me goosebumps!!!

Those guys were wusses though, I would've been running onto the court. Ya'll should've saw my friends and I on Mass Street Monday night, it was insane!! I lost my voice and didn't sleep at all that night. I got my championship shirt at 2 in the morning at jocksnitch on mass. They only let in four people at a time. One of the best moments.

I'll never forget that night. Never.
