I'm very lucky. I've just gone over 45 days with this very amazing hardbody. She came home with me on March 11th.

She is a 2008 Lexus IS-F which replaced my 07 Lexus IS350.

It's a new model, that is likely as close to a factory super car as I'll ever own. 416 HP V8, 8 Speed Tranny, 4.4 to 60, 12.8 Sec 1/4 Mile, and 174 mph top speed.

Simply. Awesome.

Courage? It's funny, I almost put this in the "what is the most you've spent without your spouse's knowlege" thread.

Luckily, she understands my love for nice cars. ;-)

As fun as NOS is, a few of the tuners are supposed to offer supercharger for it. More expensive, harder to install, but you'll never be caught with an empty bottle.

Spool the turbos? Or cool the air they compress or heat?

Back in the day, it seemed pretty common to run nos with turbos to cool the air that the turbos heated. Of course, it's been awhile since I've spun the wrenches.

The dealer in town had two show up on the same day. They were the first two they knew of.

The M3 is nice. No doubt. It seems the two cars are very even. The F usually wins in a straight line and the M3 will take it in the twisties. Of course you can add 45 or so hp to the M3 pretty easily with a chip, something impossible to this point with the F.

I'd prefer a manual to a slushbox, but the Lexus is very intriguing. For a first shot at that type of car they've really hit a grand slam. The other car makers in that segment have been at it a very, very long time.

Congrats! Be sure to drive slow enough to keep your license.

The shift times on this 8 speed (when using the manual mode paddles) are amazing. Supposedly, very close to the F1 cars. That said, I just posted on the lexus site that my one small complaint is it almost has too many gears when just driving around. It is shifting all the time. Of course you put it in sport mode, or drive aggressivly, and that issues goes away. Have you been in one (or own one?) of the new M3's yet?

No, I'm just wanting to steal his car and then sell it. Don't tell him.

Off topic, but my wife is starting to think about cars, and in general her tastes are pretty conservative. However, we went to the Denve auto show, and she informed me that she could go for a bright orange Porsche Boxster that we saw there. I may approve of that.

I'm intrigued by the 135 too, waiting to see what tii model is like. :D

Well, I applaud you, Mr. Rainman.

In the past decade, I owned a black SUV, a "Pewter" SUV and once again, a black SUV.

I tried to pull off a different color other than black, but all my friends and family told me that it just didn't quite fit me. Once I purchased the latest black SUV this past December, apparently, all was right with the Universe.

I guess some of us can wear colors and some of us are stuck with black.

I haven't seen much lately, but I haven't tried as hard as I should. I probably need to drop the resume online somewhere to see what gets hit.

"144 games" was quick math too. Your first guess was closer. Just go to lexus' website and build one, if you want. Be sure to choose every option. ;-)

Add $150 for the tint, and about 1600 for the clear bra.

The sad thing is that you are correct.

I justify it to myself because it's my way to wind down going from work to home, which is really about all I do. ;-)

Luckily, the Lexus models hold their value well, too. My 07 IS350 cost me 3K to drive for 18 months. Now, truth be told I have a family member who works for the regional office, so I get the cars at dealer cost. In the case of the F, I could sell it now for more than I paid for it.
