NFL Network's Adam Schefter believes that if the Dolphins take Jake Long with the No. 1 overall pick, the Rams will select Glenn Dorsey at No. 2.

The Rams would then move 2007 first-round pick Adam Carriker to end, his natural position. Dorsey would start next to NT Cliff Ryan. Schefter thinks that if Jake and Dorsey go 1-2, Atlanta would lean toward Matt Ryan at No. 3


MIA - Jake Long
STL - Glenn Dorsey
ATL - Matt Ryan
OAK - McFadden/Chris Long/Vernon Gholston?

I could also possibly see the Falcons trading out of that spot with someone who could want Gholston or Long.

Yeah, and it's not a bad choice. I just think that the other 4 are all better options. I hope we get one of them. Ellis would not make me unhappy, he's just not a GREAT value at 5. All 4 of those other guys are IMO.

Although I'm still not sure I want Ryan instead of Ellis. We're gonna get a good player, I just want options dammit. :cuss:

I'm just hoping that Matt Ryan is drafted at 3, or Oakland works a deal with Baltimore and they take him at 4. I really, really, really don't want to see Ryan in a Chiefs uniform.

I've been anticipating that all along. I selected Dorsey for the Rams, because I think they believe he is the best player in the draft and I concur. I also recall Linehan saying they need to generate a pass rush and solidify their O-Line-so D-line and O-line are their biggest priorities.

The Chiefs better damn well be thinking Ellis-he's a damn good player and he could go a long way in helping our D-line.

Same here. If Jake long is gone, I wouldn't mind Gholston or Chris Long at all, but not Ryan.

I'm starting to like the idea more and more. The top QB prospect and a top 3 offensive lineman in the 1st round?

After that we could just go BAA and improve the team each pick...:)

This seems a very likely scenerio, but it would be even more interesting at St. Louis if they take C Long, ATL takes Ryan, and Oakland has to decide between Dorsey and McFadden.

In your scenerio there is no way Oakland passes on C Long and I'd hope we'd pick S. Ellis.
