Cowboys acquired suspended CB Pacman Jones from the Titans in exchange for a 2008 fourth-round pick. The Titans will also get a 2009 pick if Jones is reinstated and plays this season.

The ultimate risk-reward move, but the Cowboys protected themselves. If Jones stays suspended, the Titans will send Dallas a 2009 pick. We think it's worth it. The Cowboys have also re-worked Jones' contract and we suspect it's team friendly. Based on ability and on-field production, Jones is more valuable than anyone in the 2008 draft. Perhaps it will blow up on Dallas, but the price isn't too high.

Not really in my mind.

A 4th round pick for a good CB/returner. If he stays suspended....they get a 2009 pick and I'm pretty sure that the contract he signed will be pretty cap friendly. If they can stop him from being retarded.....then this is a smart move.

How is it dumb? He's a Pro Bowl-caliber CB when on the field, and Dallas completely protected themselves if he doesn't get reinstated.

He may get on the field for a few games, but IMO it's just a matter of time and he'll blow it. Then he becomes a distraction and the Cowboys will get tons of "I told you so's"

There is NO WAY this guy avoids trouble in Dallas... NONE.
