"If that 4.55 is a 4.45, he's a top-10 pick."

Guys, this dude is a f'ing STUD and will be a BEAST in our cover-two.

What did we all get sick of the most? That pussy Ty Law or Nap Harris whiffing on tackles. Flowers tackles better than every LINEBACKER on our team, nevermind DBs!

I wouldn't be opposed to waiting another 10 picks or so and then trading a couple threes and another garbage pick or two for a mid-late two ... depending on who's there.

Quentin Groves would be fantastic value to get after the passer with Hali and Dorsey.

The thing this year, with the Dorsey and Flowers pick, is that they took two of the top players off of a couple of good defenses, rather than backup linemen or LBs who happened to be on the team with them. Part of that is the draft position, of course, but it's a nice change from the early '00s...

Dorsey is arguably the #1 talent in the entire draft. Albert is a top 10 rated player by most. Flowers was considered top ten talent till he ran his 40 and just ran 1/10th slower than what scouts wanted.

3 top ten talent players in our first 3 picks!! This is a great day Chiefs fans!!

KC could do it but they are going to have to give up some draft picks. For example the NFL trade value charts show the Chiefs would have to give up their top 3rd (73 slot) worth 225 points, their 4th worth 84 points, plus their top 6th round pick worth 23 points, (total of 332 points) to get Miami's 2nd round pick 330 points. I know they don't always go by this chart, but they follow it pretty close.

Wilson8
04-26-2008, 06:20 PM
That is the 2nd Miami pick (26th in 2nd round) so maybe they would be willing to trade for 3 picks, 3rd, 4th, and 6th. It's just not cheap coming back into the second round.

I'm usually very critical of our draft picks. No dissent thus far. The film shows he is a talker after the play, but I think we have been missing some emotional fire on defense and he might be able to provide some of that. Part of the game today is swagger.
Before anyone starts annointing us champions, let's be reminded that neither of the free agents we got on our piss poor offensive line are going to be real difference makers. Anthony Alibi has never started and he's coming from Miami? Pretty much the same with Wade Smith from that powerhouse Jets line. We still have some giant holes to fill and relying on rookies for all those holes is going to be painful to watch at times.

The thing is, we picked some players with real potential to be stars in the NFL, and we have some young guys already starting, with, potentially, a couple more players from tomorrow who will be big contrutors.

These guys will struggle early, but we'll get the chance to watch them grow and mature as the season progresses.

We could be really competitive by '09, and real contenders in a couple of years.

Okay, a little something I noticed on your video. Looks like he likes hitting more than wrapping up. Which works in college. But if he trys that in the NFL guys are just gonna bounce off and race for the endzone. Hopefully, they can teach how to actually make a tackle.

Personally I think he is comparable to Al Harris, Antoine Winfield, or a poor man's Charles Woodson. He's the most physical corner in this draft and is not afraid to throw his body around when needed.

He doesn't have elite timed speed but he doesn't really need it to be a big playmaker in our Tampa 2 scheme. Not the best pure cover skills but has elite instincts to make up for it - just has a habit of being in the right place at the right time and is great in run support.

As long as this is the extent of any such problems, Flowers was a steal of a pick at this spot. Hopefully his fascination with money doesn't lead him to the strip clubs to make it rain with the likes of Pacman. I'd love to see him become a stellar DB for the Chiefs.
