Do you guys think we take a QB with one of our 9 picks left? I like Colt Brennan or John David Booty..

If we do a draft QB, what round do you think we take one?

Im starting to think some of those guys might be available as free agents after the draft.

Now im guessing the Chiefs will wait....

IM kinda shocked they passed on Brohm and Henne.

I saw Woodson play in person here in Fayetteville this year...he's ok... a little raw. I like Brennan's passing accuracy of all these guys...maybe in the 4th?

I agree. If you're going to draft a project, he might as well be the best athlete of the bunch. Worst case scenario he has to move to another position. Didn't Chan Gailey do the same thing with Hines Ward and Slash with the Steelers?

Agreed, If you dont rebuild the OL, it doesnt matter...

The guys on ESPN made a great point, no matter who you have behind that line, they wont succeed...

Give Croyle the weapons and protection, and he will be a servicable QB.

i dont think anybody sees colt brennan being a starter in the nfl, but if we are looking for a body to back up and to see if coaches might be able to refine, a project who might eventually push Croyle, he might be worth a late pick or a look if he's undrafted. maybe without the expectations of a starter he could develop into someone who could play in herm's kind of offense. i would rather we had a backup who was a young guy rather than some 35 year old schmuck.

1st choice - John David Booty

2nd choice - Woodson

3rd choice - Ainge

None of the above. These guys are bodies, nothing more, so why waste a pick. Maybe Woodson has enough upside to warrant a late, late rounder, but nothing more.

I like JD Booty but not until the 6th.

There are far too many higher rated players in the 3rd, 4th and 5th round than Booty.

Never. Pick. Need.

I think Carl looks at it like we have our up an comer in Croyle-he'll get a year to prove himself. We've got the vet back-up in Huard, should Croyle faulter horribly or get injured, and we have another young guy in Thigpen. I don't think we'll be drafting a QB at all-if we do it, will be late in the draft, IMO.

I'm not going to act like I've seen any video, but the heads on ESPN have mentioned Kevin O'Connell from San Diego State repeatedly. Jaws in particular seems to be really high on the guy.

Kevin O'Connell is an interesting QB prospect. He has the size, 6'5", 225 lbs, speed with a 4.61 40 and he ran for 408 yds with 11 TDs in 2007. He also threw for 3063 yards and 15 TDs. I've seen some video of him and he looked pretty good. He would probably be worth a 4th or 5th round pick.

Exactly.

Year after year after year after year there have been serious legitimate complaints about the Chiefs draft.

Trent Green for the 12th overall?
Eric Downing? Snoop Minnis?
Ryan Sims? Eddie Freeman?
Junior *freaking* Siavii? Bigfoot?

And on and on and on and ON.

The Chiefs FINALLY have a great draft, a draft that may redefine this franchise for the next decade, and there are f*cking stupid motherf*ckers on this forum that STILL bitch.

Line 'em up. Shoot 'em in the ass.

I, for one, am not going to take it this year.

I hear ya, anybody who bitches about this draft needs a good kick in the a$$. The only people who should be upset about our draft are raider, bronco and charger fans because we are on the up and up baby!!

I don't know what value spending a 2nd day pick on another developmental (read: future career backup) would really have, when we can use those picks, particularly the 3rds, on players who might actually be, you know, good. And play. And stuff.

There are guys in the third round that could make an immediate contribution.

Doucet and Nicks/Collins come to mind. And HermCo are probably aware of a few more.

No need to waste a precious pick on a developmental QB.

Especially when the Chiefs already have TWO on the roster.

True. I guess the only positive to having Croyle as our starting QB is that he's our ticket to the 1st overall pick next year. The guy is just a stop-gap player, a lame duck QB that is going to lead us to nothing but a REALLY high draft pick, if not the overall number 1. What sucks is the QB draft class is pretty shitty next year. For that, I hope Croyle works out for us, but he won't. We'll be signing or trading for a vet to start for us in 09, bank on it.

You missed my point.

People have had legitimate complaints immediately following the draft (and yes, people bitched about 2001's draft, even moreso down the road after TG threw 24 picks and earned the name TrInt).

This is about IMMEDIATE judgment, not 20/20 from the future.

How ANYONE can bitch about the 2008 Day One haul is beyond my comprehension.

Stupid is the word I'd chose for those individuals.

I've seen Woodson play when Kentucky came to Arkansas last year. They beat us in a tight game. He can play. He's got a really screwy release when he throws the ball. That's the biggest knock on him. He's raw, but he can play.

Everyone seems to forget that lots of Hall of Fame QB's came from late rounds....Brady, Montana, etc.

I'm good with another kid at QB to compete but NOT in the third round here. There's far too much starter-capable talent at other positions.

Best QB available in round five or six works for me. Ainge, Johnson, Woodson, whoever.
