How in the world did Erin Henderson not get drafted? I watch a lot of Maryland games (living near there) and the guy is all over the field every time they play. He was a 2nd or 3rd round pick in every mock I saw, and I figured having a successful NFL relative would bump him up by itself (like it did for the raw Dominque Rogers-Cromartie or Bobby Carpenter when the Cowboys took him at 18).

I'd love to see Henderson and Eric Young signed. They could stick as UDFA. Adarius Bowman, too.

From my area of intimate knowledge, D2 thoughts:

I thought that OLB Curtis Johnson would be the first Division II player taken today; I thought he'd be drafted before Brandon Carr and Xavier Omon. I had him penciled in as high as the 4th round. He played DE at Clark, but projects to OLB in the pros. He had 39.5 sacks in his college career, and he still has upside.
I'd LOVE to see him brought in as an UDFA.

Mike Peterson, Northwest Missouri State... I love the kid. He's not a fit with the Chiefs for a couple of reasons. Mike was a college TE, he was basically Tony G at the D2 level. His blocking is pro average with room for improvement, and his pass catching is VERY good. I saw one scouting report that says he lacks big play ability, which is total horseshit, 'cuz his hands and athleticism brought nothing but big plays. Anyway, the Chiefs drafted two TEs, so no fit. Mike projects wonderfully as an H-back in the pros, but Chan's offense is not going to utilize that type of player. He'll land with somebody, and it won't surprise me if he makes an opening day roster.

Don't even think about Danny Woodhead. He's a GREAT character kid with a wonderful college career. He played in a weak conference, though. In 2006, Chadron State played Northwest Missouri in the playoffs, and Danny was limited to 16 yards. Danny put up 90 on Northwest in the 2007 playoffs, but 40+ was on one play. Woodhead is fast, but that's it. He doesn't have the ability to break the run on the corner at the NFL level, because he couldn't do it against Northwest Missouri's defense. He's a good kid, but he won't be able to cut it at the pro level. His best shot will be in a Denver/Houston zone blocking type scheme.

Jamar Brittingham, RB, Bloomsburg, is a better RB prospect than Woodhead.

I'd like to see OT Ben Hochstein, Nebraska-Omaha, brought in to the Chiefs. He's a prolific run-blocking tackle.

CB Maurice Leggett, from Valdosta State, is a gamer, man. Bring him into camp, too.

Yea but he was born that way I think, Hendersons is that way due to injury. It's not a giant deal if you are like that you basically just have to wear a brace for stability.

Five Missouri players get NFL contracts; Temple signs with Cleveland
By MIKE DeARMOND
The Kansas City Star
Five football players from the University of Missouri have agreed to free-agent contracts, including running back Tony Temple and cornerback Darnell Terrell, who are set to join fourth-round draft pick Martin Rucker with the Cleveland Browns.

“It’s going to be the University of Missouri-Cleveland,” joked Shane Mecham, Temple's agent.

Others who, according to their agents, have agreed to free-agent invitations are: offensive lineman Tyler Luellen with San Diego; center Adam Spieker with Oakland; and defensive lineman Lorenzo Williams with Baltimore.

Tim Rogers, who represents Luellen, said he was working on free-agent interest in safety Pig Brown, who suffered a rupture of his right Achilles midway through MU’s 2007 season.

Throw in receiver Will Franklin, drafted Sunday in the fourth round by the Chiefs, and seven former Tigers will be in NFL mini-camps starting as early as this weekend.

I will take the :mizzou: :homer: pick.

#248 Darnell Terrell, CB, Missouri
Even as an MU fan, I'm not excited about Terrell.

Minnesota signed a ton of "name" guys...

I like the OT from Rutgers as a development guy.

The Raiders signed a kid from my school. TE Chris Wagner. 6'6" 255 lb.

He also played b-ball.

How the hell did the Vikings get all those guys (I can understand Henderson, but Radovich and Griffin :spock: )

They are on the rise. Players want a team that's going to win.

The Vikings have a giant hole at some of those spots so they probably think they can make the team.

Besides QB where else? All I heard the last couple of days is that JA could be the missing piece to going to the SB.

Read earlier today per TigerIllustrated.com, a Rivals.com site, that we signed OG Chris McDuffie out of Clemson, solid pick up.
Another thing to note, we just drafted Clemson's left side of their offensive line in this year's draft. Take that with a grain of salt...
