OK, my family vacation to Orlando starts next week. We plan a day down at Kennedy Space Center as well.
What are some of the best Beaches near there?? How is Coco Beach??
Any advice?

It depends where you want to go. Are you just looking for beaches around central Florida? Cocoa is ok. So are New Smyrna and Daytona, although Daytona used to be a little dirty back in the day.

Coco Beach is fine. Been there twice and have had a good time both times.

Just a nice family beach to hang out at. Is it warm enough to swim there yet?

Cocoa Beach was great in May. Went down there twice: 2 years ago and 9 years ago. Have fun, wherever you go.

The sharks seem to like New Smyrna.

a pretty cool stop-off is St. Augustine--maybe lunch & some sightseeing.

I hear Destin is nice
Destin is not on the east coast.
Destin is not on the east coast.
The beers made me misread the question, and my actual personal lack of destin would make me seem to be a tool
Thanks!

I'm sure it is. I just went to Jacksonville Beach this weekend and the water was fine. That's about 2 hours north of Cocoa. Vilano beach in St Augustine is really nice, but it's at least an hour and a half from Orlando.
