Anyone have any experience buying from the merchants they suggest? I'm thinking of buying a new plasma from one of the sites they list, but have never heard of some of them. Just want to make sure I'm not buying from some fly by night organization.

The top two on the one I'm looking at are butterflyphoto.com and abesofmaine.com.

I might suggest comparing your results from pricegrabber.com to froogle.com.

Froogle offers seller reviews along with product reviews.

I'd also check into the freight company that the seller website uses.

Random Tip: If you do purchase a TV from an online vendor, make sure to keep the freight guys around until you get the TV out of the box and make sure it's functioning.

I have used pricegrabber in the past. You definitely need to take into account the customer store ratings. Also, I have used nextag.com and dealtime.com for the same purpose. BTW, www.resellerratings.com is a good resource. Here are the ratings for the 2 retailers you listed.

Public service announcement related to this post. I ended up going with buydig and they were great. I love my new 50" plasma. Also that reseller ratings site is worth checking out too.

Butterflyphoto is legit. I bought two different camcorders there and everything went smooth.
