Fantastic news - I just hope they don't screw it up. Club Dread was awful, though they sort of redeemed themselves with Beer Fest.

Super Troopers is like a cult classic comedy.

Comedies are tough to duplicate because there's not that first initial element of surprise. It will be nice to see all of the characters again, but I think there was a lot of pressure over the years to do a sequel, after shelving the movie time and time again for whatever reasons, and now we'll get a overkill overdone pos w/ bad dialouge. I'll still see it.

But I see this as being Dumb and Dumber Too level of bad, for a lot of the same reasons. FWIW I liked Beer Fest and the Original ST. Actually the first time I saw ST was in the theatres and I was w/ my gf at the time and for some reason I just didn't think the movie was that funny. She probably ruined the vibe. But the 2nd time I watched it, I was in college with some friends and was drinkin/smoking...laughed my ass off pretty much the whole way through. If they wanted to really make something new and funny, they would have built off of the last scene in Beerfest, where they go into Potfest w/ Willie Nelson..hence, they should have done a "Potfest" movie.

The other Broken Lizzard movies are crap IMO.

Is this really porn 'cause that's the only way I am watching it.

Last movie about cops in "Old Dodges" that I watched was "Blues Brothers" and I thought they totaled all of those. Maybe that explains the Crown Vics!

I think I would rather watch a 25 year old Aykroyd and Belushi personally.....

I think Bill Murray will be starring in a new movie where Harry Caray develops an alter ego (Carl Spackler) in his upcoming movie....Life after "The Chive"

IMO it's the other way around, I liked Club Dread, hated Beer Fest.

"You think Eddie Money has to put up with this shit?"

Ah, yeah. I remember the first one. My goober older kids kept renting it over and over again so I finally watched it. Shortly after watching it I stopped at the local 7-11 on the way to work very early in the morning. The guy was mopping the floor and not letting people in. There were four cops at the door handing the guy cash for their items. Two locals, two California Highway Patrol. When I walked up to the door I yelled, "Gimme a liter o' cola!" The local guys cracked up, the CHP just looked pissed and one said, "That's not funny." So I said, "Oh, I think it was, but you bet your ass I'll be driving the speed limit all the way to work today, officer." The local guys cracked up some more and the CHP just glared at me. Made my morning.

It is funny it took them this long to make the second. They were sitting on a gold mine but I think it won't do as well just because of the time between the movies. Even if it does look halfway decent.

Extra style points for them using the song "Ca Plan Pour Moi" by Plastic Bertrand.

I’ll say it does bigger box office than the original simply because it’s a known quantity now. The original wasn’t a big box office hit. It grew its audience after its box office run from word of mouth, rentals and cable tv.

I think they got scared when their follow-up projects were not exactly draped in glory. Club Dredd and Beerfest didn't exactly set the world on fire.

Then Jay got into directing, and I sense he's a primary motivator in the group.

Yeah, I definitely think it will make some bank whether it sucks or not. I just think it would have made more had they released it say a year or so after the first one became such a huge hit.

If I recall correctly, Club Dredd completely sucked but I thought Beerfest was actually pretty funny. Not Super Troopers funny, but funny none the less.

Beerfest and Club Dread where both decent enough.

I wasnt hot on ST 2 but this newest trailer makes me think it may be funny. Gotta be better than Zoolander 2, Joe Dirt 2 etc

It was forgettable. Funny in parts; good for a few one-offs. I mean, not that dissimilar to the first when you get down to it. Predictably just not quite as good. Worth the $2 on Redbox or whatever.

The first movie was made 18 years ago yet the guys didn't age nearly as much as I thought they would have, except Rabbit. Lynda Carter doesn't look a day older somehow. But holy hell, age did not treat Ursula well. She looked worn as hell in this movie in the 30 seconds or so she was in it.

But it was all worth it to see Emmanuelle Chriqui. As a general rule, she's attractive. But for whatever reason she's a goddamn smokeshow in this movie.

Broken Lizard seems hell-bent on a part 3 and I guess this wasn't so bad that it should slam the door on that. Nor was it good enough that I desperately want to see one made. It was just...there.
