The truth is, the starters on the Royals aren't that great. When DeJesus is your starting CF, you've got problems. The hitting on the team is beyond bad. I haven't seen a true power hitter in a long time.

Alnorth, I'm assuming you have an automatic update set-up, right? How does one go about this?

nope, this is all done manually with edits after something happens. I've got a few shortcuts and things I copy-paste to make it really easy, but thats it.

Rep for your efforts. Very impressive. Even more impressive that you're able to stomach this team's offensive performances. I do my best, but sometimes I must avert my eyes.

Oh, I'm not gonna keep this pace up the whole year. I'll eventually get sick of it and take a break for a while before coming back to it.

So first they let the guy on base after he stuck his leg out to get hit, then they let another guy interfere?
Nice umpiring.

Well, Soria's been bailing out so many pitchers the last couple seasons while saving games, its only fair that he gets bailed out spectacularly when he finally has a bad game and needs help.

Terrible game for the pitching staff. 4 runs. Who can overcome that? Embarrassing pitching effort. Rookie pitcher doesn't have his best stuff and still goes 7. That's not going to get it done. Send him back to Omaha.

When Cabrera is on, he's nearly unhittable. I know the Royals don't have a good offense, but not many teams could've hit well against him the way he was pitching tonight along with the size of the strike zone. We'll get 'em tomorrow.

Problem is we seem to say this nearly once a series. Last series it was Santana, the series before that it was Ponson and Sabithia. At some point out big league hitters have to be able to hit big league pitchers. Maybe the problem is we lack big league hitters.

Your 2008 Kansas City Royals- The team that ends losing streaks, makes pitchers look like Cy Young candidates, and gets batters out of funks

Yep, when KC makes Ponson look like the Ponson of 2003, you know we are in trouble.

Yeah, we still kinda suck, but pitching hasn't been part of the problem.

... and is currently 2.5 games out of first.
We all sure raised our standards pretty fast. Usually by this time of year, we've already lost 30 games.
