My Xbox 360 won't power on - please help

A couple of days ago my Xbox 360 would not power on at all. I checked all the wires to make sure that something did not get knocked loose. I also had my son's friend down the street bring over his power pack to make sure it wasn't that. It still didn't worked when hooked up to the friend's power pack.

I know all about the red ring of death issue, but this is different. It does not even power on. What should I do? Send it back to MS for a replacement? Anyone have that info available?

Everytime I'm about to say **** it, 360 me, I hear more BS. It's looking like once I pull my lazy ass of the couch PS3 will be the one. Sucks though, I hear a lot of cool things about games like Gears of War, Bioshock, Halo 3, etc. etc.

Mine is the older SKU. It was part of the ones with the old heatsinks. Get a newer one and your probably not going to have that problems.

In all honesty, you really dont have anything to lose. Even if it dies, they send you the box, prepaid. All you do is take it to UPS and wait 2 weeks. I know it sucks 2 weeks without gaming, but its not the end of the world.

Probably his. Mine red rings alot, but if i hit it like i used to my old nintendo's it fires up sometimes. lol Mines about 25 percent chance it may work, 75 it wont atm.

I have been watching my neighbors pets while they are in LA and they own all 3 of the next gen systems. He's paying me by giving me some 360 time :)

I fooled around on his PS3, playing Uncharted - wow. Impressive game.

Well, I got the return box coming here in a few days. I'm having a problem getting the tray to open. I don't want to send it in with Halo 3 in it.

Yeah, I went through all of that the other night. I will probably give it another try tonight. I just don't want to end up breaking something. BTW, the hole is there on the right side under the Xbox 360 stamp. Only problem is that the hole goes through the plastic but behind the plastic is solid metal. The ones on the left side don't seem to be getting us anywhere.
