What is the best Torrent Site to use.

I downloaded a torrent and uploaded it with uTorrent and it is 93.2 percent complete and then it stopped downloading and have been trying to get it download since then.

So whats the problem ? And why is it doin this ? Will have to download a different torrent ?

Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Torrents can sometimes be finnicky if the guy who originally put the torrent onto whatever site you're using didn't finish seeding it. Basically, it sounds like only 93.2 percent of your torrent is available. You should be able to see if there are a bunch of "peers" that are stuck at the same 93.2 percent. You are all waiting for somebody who has 100% (or at least the 6.8% that you don't have) of the file to log back on and start sharing again. Most of the time, someone will.

Another possibility (less likely) is that part of the torrent is bad. Another option is that you accidentally clicked to not download some of the file. Say you're downloading an album or something, you might have accidentally unclicked one of the song files.

No offense, Mr. royr17. But, this thread belongs in the new "Stuff That's 93.2 Percent Complete" sub-forum.

Try:

www.isohunt.com
www.mininova.org
www.piratebay.org

Restart your application and maybe it will update the servers from which you are downloading. Also you might have filled your memory up with the file you were trying to download, so restarting it might help. If the torrent still doesn't work then try finding a file that has more seeders. Worse case is you delete that torrent and find the same one using the sites I provided that has more seeders. www.isohunt.com is good because it will combine different sites sharing the same file(meaning more seeders) so you get your file. Also the best application to download torrents is www.utorrent.com one. It is light, fast, and isn't a resource hog. Hope that helps.

I hate being forced to share. It should at least be optional.

You should use eztv.it to get TV. It gives you links to 3 different sites and they're the famous releasers anyway.

He certainly is an oddity, Mr. Ari Chi3fs.

I see him as our own virtual Jeremiah Wright.

Why is it that I get super fast speed on Linux and below average speed on Windows. Drives me nuts.

Depends on what bandwidth there is on what your downloading. Places like mininova have bad upload rate. It will still get the job done

I don't believe that's true. Mininova, to my knowledge, doesn't have trackers. They just host the torrent files for other people's trackers. But I could be wrong.

No, site period. Name one site that would benefit ALL torrent users more. If you want to say it is the best search engine, that is fine, but it is the best overall site as well, in any category, just for the fact that at one point, users stop needing "guides" to use their torrent application.

I don't know. Mininova is better, IMO. torrentz.com isn't bad.

If you're downloading things you shouldn't be and you have an IP that will rat you out, you should really try to stick to trackers that require registration (AKA private trackers... which generally track your download/upload radio and you have to share what you take).

Not that it's a foolproof means of security, especially with some of the larger sites, but there's plenty of lesser known private trackers that have all the releases of the major ones. And your odds of getting in trouble are next to nil.

I don't think that's the best simply because it displays a lot of dead links or links to private trackers. I much prefer mininova.

I take everything to 100%. I just hate having to leave something up for days to get it there. 384 sucks for speed.

I only use it when I miss a show because I forgot to record it.

After I download something, I generally try to upload to a 100% share ratio, as a rule of thumb. I mean, they were kind enough to share it with me...

I got the first season of the original Twilight Zone. 33 one hour episodes... That took close to 3 days.

The thing with TV torrents is that all the upload speeds are insanely fast. There's no slow down there. I dont mind sharing. Gotta do it with my porn site account. lol

I can't because I have a cap.

ISPs are going to harm the internet eventually. Bandwidth caps to make up for their drowning cable biz (online tv starting to take off).

On the same page with ya KcM. That is the same reason I go to 100%.

The only thing I pulled out early on, heh, was the KU game because that tracker was a free leach torrent and insanely huge. Would have taken me over a week to up that baby.

Out of curiosity, has anyone actually visited torrentscan?

It is not a tracker, it is a tracker search aggregate. In other words it will search mininova, piratebay, demonoid, etc. Comparing tscan to mnova is like comparing google to wikipedia. Yes they "advertise" by displaying results on "pay for" networks, but those come AFTER your results, and are easily ignored.
