Will the Tonight Show's format remain the same or will Conan take his brand of comedy with him?

Fallon is unbearable to me. Perhaps the most un-funny person alive. He's the Herm Edwards of comedians. The deep splinter in the ass of humorists. The persistent, patchy, oozing, itchy nutsack-rash of entertainers. Maybe they'll be showing X-Files reruns on another channel.

I love Conan, though since he's on at 12:35am PST, I rarely have a chance to see him. Since I find Leno to be boring and unworthy of my time, I look forward to Conan coming to Los Angeles.

And for those of you who don't think he'll last, you're incorrect. NBC is building a new studio just for the Conan O'Brien show on the Universal Lot (which is less than 7 minutes from my house). They're also building a new site where they'll have the Today Show in Los Angeles. Currently, all four hours are filmed and broadcast from NYC but once the building is complete, 2 hours will be broadcast from NYC and 2 hours from Los Angeles. Tjey're planning an outdoor area for fans as well.

It'll be great for commerce to have both shows locally but there's major concern about traffic issues (to which I'm sure, none of you care. Just passing on info).

Conan is the absolute best. I've been a fan for a long time, got to go see a taping back in 2000. I'll probably adjust my work schedule so I can stay up for the 11:35-12:35 show - his current time slot is too late for me to get in at 7:30am.

As for Fallon - I'm not a fan, but I could see him do alright as a late night talk show host. Of course, he'll laugh through his entire monologue.

JBucc

I don't really care who's on in that slot since I usually don't stay up that late. I like Conan and am glad I'll get to see him more often.

He's once again shifting around uncomfortably in the chair. How this guy's supposed to host a show where he's in the chair roughly 80% of the show is beyond me.

I like Conan's interview style a lot better than Leno's. Frankly, I can't stand Leno. Fallon wasn't very funny on SNL, the only time I would laugh at him was when he would start laughing at someone else being waaaay funnier. Except for when he and Timberlake would do the "Barry Gibb Talkshow". That sh!t was hilarious!

I've never seen Fallon do a talk show, Mr. el borracho, so I don't know about that part. I do know, however, that I'd rather stick broken glass infected with vaginal warts into my eyes than watch Fallon do that weird caveboy routine. Honestly, I have no idea why people think he is humorous. He is a walking pile of elephant sludge under a 200 dollar haircut.

I can understand that- their style of humor is very different so it probably just depends what you find humorous. O'Brien is very funny and he probably does "off" humor better than anyone else right now. Ferguson does a more mainstream humor (still not entirely mainstream but more than O'Brien) but he is so quick-minded it's astonishing.

Same here. I'm guessing that Conan won't be willing to water himself down very much. I mean, when he's hosted the Emmy's (in prime time, mind you) he hasn't toned it down at all. So I'm definitely hopeful. But any Conan is better than Leno every day of the week.

Here's the Jimmy Fallon press conference...
