Coupla questions for you to consider...

1) I've been a hockey fan for about 15-16 years. Upon my entry to fandom was I supposed to fall in love with a horrible team that was never on TV? Or do you think it makes more sense that I fell for a team that was on TV more than most, had several players I really liked, and played a style I was a fan of?

2) How can you be a bandwagon fan when I know, roughly, 10 hockey fans in the world?

It does. I was raised to be a Chiefs fan. By the time I got serious about football at all, the Chiefs were winning a lot of games. It's only been recently that I've learned what losing is. Good luck to your squad this year bud.

And hockey might be interesting to watch in person, wouldn't know...but it's like soccer on ice, I can't be amused by watching a puck fly back and forth for an hour, and finding the net maybe once.

I would have agreed around this time last year. My wife's been a hockey fan her whole life, and I've pretty much tolerated it. This year, though, I actually made it a point to watch games whenever they were on. As I've come to understand the finer points of the game more, I've enjoyed it much more.

I don't think I'll ever like it as much as football, and I must admit that I sometimes watch games while doing other things (like working, playing on the Planet, etc.), but it's a good time anyway.

I really can't have Cards envy. I've really just started watching MLB this year. Considering I only live 50 miles north of KC and the Cards/Royals gear I see around here is 2/1, there is obviously a pretty loyal fanbase throughout MO.

But the one Cards fan I know pretty well is also a Raiders fan... so, by default, all Cards fans are Raiders fans. A hatred is born...

Go Royals.

I've never liked the soccer on ice comparisons. There are way more scoring chances in a hockey game. There are usually at least 50 legit scoring chances, often more. And I don't like to compare sports too much... but really the only sport with a bunch of scores is basketball. In football if you score 3 times it's 21-0... so it's kind of skewed.

You're on the slippery slope, sir. One of these days (I'd give it two years if you keep watching regularly) you're going to post your confession that hockey is the greatest game ever invented.

I've never been comfortable with the fact that I have found a mistress in hockey that has supplanted my lifelong marriage with football, but I'm willing to admit that it has happened.

When you need a sponsor to get you through it all, I'm here for you.
