My recent acquisition....
I'm prepared for the "You should've got a '______________'" comments:p

Can't wait to get the tires scrubbed in and the break-in oil changed out.
She had 0 miles on her; somehow my 13 mile trip home turned into 64. :p

So far she's great. Far more comfortable than my previous ZX6R (R.I.P June 2003); overal fit and finish is typical Honda - great. Digial speedo and fuel gauge (no more idiot lights!); analog tach (my preference). Fuel injection is great - no more fuel petcocks/reserve etc; no more choking in cool weather. She fires to life in a mere 2 spins of the starter.

Love the orange for some reason; even more so in the sunlight as it has metal flake in it.

Sounds mean; particularly for a stock 600. My ZX6R stock was as quiet as a library. This has a growl to it; love the GP-styled swing arm and exhuast location, although you can definitely feel the heat on your right calf despite the heat shield. But it's minimal.

My 35 miles commute each way will now be more enjoyable than on my Vstar Custom 650; great bike, but neeeds a 6th gear or taller 5th; she buzzes pretty good at 75 which makes my hands numb. Oh, and rocks hurt the face at 75.

Anyway; I wanted to share my excitement with my fellow CP-ers.

It came with a lifetime supply of vaseline. How could he pass up the opportunity to knock out 2 dreams with 1 purchase?

Nice bike, definitely more economical than a car in these times.

...eek. :cuss:
I didn't think of that during my color selection!.
Maybe I need a license place to clarify; something like "DNKH8R"
.......
but I still like it.

that's actually the OEM paint color name.
It was that or "18-Year Plan Red".
It was lose-lose either way.

Yep. They are nice. Great styling too. Water cooled.

their styling is great; throw in water-cooling and it gets even better.
my Vstar cooks in traffic and I can tell the subtle different in power loss etc.

My next cruiser will be water cooled; definately .

I thinkt that's the offician OEM name for that color.
My only other choice was "18-Year Plan Red"...

lose / lose situation.

Please tell me you're not one of the "shorts, sandals, and no helmet" crowd.

Please tell me you're not one of the "shorts, sandals, and no helmet" crowd.

hell no. Full gear for me. Hemlet, gloves, and lether boots of some kind and leather/or textile jacket with armor. Actually, my old flight deck boots from the Navy are perfect. Those fools with cargo shorts/sandles and tank tops etc give the rest of the responsible sportbike riders a bad, bad name.

Had full gear on during my last 'get off' going about 60 on blue river parkway; car came a little too close to center line during a nice left hander; had to briefly stand the bike up which too me off line; almost recoverd but encounterd the junk on the side (sand, gravel, debris) and low-sided.

I tumbled; broke 2 bones in my hand and cracked a rib. That's it. Other than feeling like I got the sh*t beat out of me the next day, i was good. The Shoei helmet did it's job; no concusion; and the back of the helmt had a nickel sized chunk missing from it; my ribs hit the ground first, then I rolled backwards. I'd be dead with out it for sure.

if it's too hot to ride with full gear, I dont' ride.:thumb:
For those fools who ride with t-shirts & shorts, with sandles etc....there's an old saying. "There are two kinds of motorcylists; those who have crashed & those who will".
