From what I can tell, it's kind of a replacement for rep, post count, etc that takes into account those two plus a ton of other activities to give you a ranking of sorts.

Like I said, I don't really plan to keep it, but I figured I'd play with it to see what it's like.

Heh...ain't THAT the truth.

For what it's worth, it's slowly churning through everyone to calculate their bars, but it's going pretty slowly. It may be an hour or two before it fully updates.

Looks like there's also a link under "Quick Links" to see the full list.

So Rausch what do the 2 different bars mean? Is 1 better than the other?

I have no idea. The link he provided only talks about a few of the things that go into this undescribed rating system.

So far as I can tell it's like QB rating for BB members.

It did mention what kind of posts/threads you start, if they are visited and commented/repped, and what comprises your posts. Things like attachments, pics, links, etc.

I would have thought GOATS would be much bigger considering the video/pics he's contributed. Perhaps the new rating system can detect middle fingers pointed at your avatar and username...

Heh...I was just digging around over there, and there's an add-on called "Miserable Users." Basically, instead of banning people, you just add them to that list and it will give them fake database errors, blank pages, and crap like that 3/4 of the time as if the server were having issues. It would work fine for everyone else. ROFL

I always wonder what prompts a person to design something like that.

1. Slow response (time delay) on every page (20 to 60 seconds default).
2. A chance they will get the "server busy" message (50% by default).
3. A chance that no search facilities will be available (75% by default).
4. A chance they will get redirected to another preset page (25% & homepage by default).
5. A chance they will simply get a blank page (25% by default).
6. Post flood limit increased by a defined factor (10 times by default).
7. If they get past all this okay, then they will be served up their proper page.

It was calculating them sequentially by user number, so people who have been here the longest got calculated first. The rest would have eventually caught up if I'd let it go.

The KCStar board had a option for the "miserable users"
it showed them posting only where that poster could read it
they got banned and didn't know it -pretty funny

Not worth it?

I like the idea behind it but I don't like any system where a members starts off at 75% of the max. The idea is that it should be more than a toy or gimmic and as close to a true evaluation of the poster as possible. If I've been here 5 years and i'm only 1/2 full of RepX then I know I've got be quality for another 5 to top off.

And I liked that it was more than just "the popular kids like me." Sems like there was a lot considered in the BBQB rating that other users couldn't manipulate...

THE CHIEFSPLANET CONSPIRACY - UNVEILED

He was the troll who wouldn't die. No mod could ban him. No IP address could contain him. He was the scourge of Chiefsplanet...until one day...THE CONSIPRACY WAS BORN.

Using top secret technology developed exclusively for the Chiefsplanet hack of VBulletin 3.5, the Planet mods - otherwise known as the THE COUNCIL OF BALD GOATS - hatched a master plan in which to ensnare their archivillain.

Thousands of Planet members were catalogued, their posting styles studied, their taste in avatars archived, so that THE SCOURGE would finally be entrapped, alone...all alone...within THE CHIEFSPLANET MATRIX.

ALONE in his cyberworld, surrounded with Planeteer doppelgangers who post, act, rep, PM and smell like REAL denizens of dumbassery, HE WHO CANNOT BE BANNED has no knowledge of the real Chiefsplanet. He is TRAPPED FOREVER WITHIN THE CHIEFSPLANET MATRIX. HE is GoChiefs, GOATSE, Mr. T Rex, JBret, BonoRules, and a THOUSAND other usernames.

HE IS ALONE. FOREVER IGNORANT. FOREVER POSTING.

FOREVER - UNTIL THE CONSPIRACY IS UNVEILED!

Rated R for poop threads and brief nudity.
