Do you collect marbles?

If so, then post here what a person who has no idea about marbles should look for.

I bought a collection of marbles this weekend and was curious to see if I had anything valuable or not.

The owner of the collection said that his grandmother had over 30,000 and he had no idea of what they were worth...only that they are from the 1910 and 1920's.

It was at a garage sale.

I have found one so far that was selling on ebay on friday for $102. Red and blue...called "superman".

Lutz, onionskins, indians are some you want to look for. Sulphides and others can be good. In marbles generally bigger is much better.

Google those names for images.

$20 a jar.

Whew.......I guess if you have some goodies in there $20 is peanuts.

Eight jars, and the jars are bigger than a glass miracle whip jar.

The seller contacted me yesterday wondering if I was interested in buying the rest of the collection.

I'm wondering if I should.
