K. Davies vs. Tim Lincecum

Looks like a bad pitching matchup for us.

Davies starts the game walking their first batter. :shake:

2-base error by Davies. :shake:

This could be good news.

I like the throwback uni's, I'm just hoping Davies doesn't render this game unwatchable.

Nice late throw, dumbass.

The Idiot seems to already be losing his head. :cuss:

No doubt about Davies...infielders HAVE to help him out a bit though. I'm pretty sure those are the old Monarch's uni's.

A walk, two errors and then a single. Ouch, not a good way to start.

OmahaChief
06-22-2008, 12:50 PM
Davies is likely to have 75 pitches after two inning pitched at this rate. Not a good effort on his part so far. This looks more like the old Davies and I hope this is not something that reminds him he sucks.

As I say that another run and that game is most likely over. Maybe Fulchino and Rosa can pitch some now that this game is over. With Linecum on the mound I doubt we score more than two runs.

I've never done that before, but we only paid $5 each for our tickets, brought our own water and peanuts, so we weren't really out anything. We had gone to Fridays game and are going to two games against the Cards next weekend and the game just seemed to be draaaaagging along very slowly. Honestly, those first two innings felt like five. We had some other things to do, so we bailed.

Speaking of superstition, we sat today out in the sun, stayed until the end. After the Giants went up 10-3, my girlfriend, who works in logistics for a local transportation company, pointed out a Monarch transportation semi with the word Monarch in huge letters on the trailer driving down I 70. She turned and said, I think we'll come back. Glad I stayed.

Then the coaching staff should call the game. Offense aside, Olivo is a much better defensive catcher. He blocks and throws, two pretty important facets of the game. Buck doesn't seem to care about the former and he simply can't accomplish the latter.

Face it Olivo can't call a game and Buck can't play the game. The Royals have been weak at catcher for years.

That was a great game! I about fell asleep during the first 2 innings, but it was well worth the wait. Was it DeJesus that leveled the pitcher covering the plate on the wild pitch? That was awesome!!!

The only bad part about sitting through a 4 hour game in the sun, is waiting another hour so your kids can run around the bases for the 50ith time.

KCUnited
06-23-2008, 09:46 AM
It was DeJesus that took out the pitcher. He had a chance to do it again later in the game to another pitcher but intentionally got himself in a run down to advance the other runner. I personally felt he should've go into home and force the pitcher to make a play even though he was out by a mile.

I don't disagree with any of this, but you can fix the first thing that you list. Ok, he doesn't handle the staff real well, so the dugout can help pick up the slack. This is one example when coaching can have a real impact on a ML game.

ACtually there was sun cause on the next batter the sun went behind a cloud and I told my wife "too bad that pitch wasn't one pitch later".

Granted he is still a pussy and was a determining factor on my early departure.
